I have a cavity on //both// my canines, in almost the exact same place D:I'm very diligent about brushing DXCould it be because they're high up [I have a crowded mouth, my wisdom teeth had to be surgically removed at 13 because they were impacted and trying to push the others out] and are up against my gums 24/7?Here's a video I took a while back, that shows themhttp://tinypic.com/r/zvr0nl/7//Note//I kept getting the sides mixed up

Even with constant brushing, flossing and use of mouthwash you need to visit a dentits every six months or so, so they can do cleanings and check your teeth.I haven't been to the dentist in awhile. Although I brush several times a day, floss, etc I still feel like I need to visit one soon. D:

@gvantsaI do visit themThey say my brushing is great D; I use a sonicare tooth brush, one of the top brands. But, I asked about the gums because my canines are softer and sensitive from them; I didn't know if it also caused the cavities.

Well since you have these concerns you should call up a dentist and ask for their expertise. Definitely need to deal with those cavities before they get larger also. Dental stuff interests me though. I was interested in becoming a dentist at one point. Cavities are caused by what you eat. So I don't think the location of those teeth is the problem or gums. If your teeth are sensitive it might be from erosion. Erosion is caused by certain foods. Acidic foods I think they are called? Not 100% sure. I know lemons and oranges are some examples.

@gvantsaLmfao, it's only my canines that are sensitive, my dentist herself said it would be wise to get braces because the gums are pressed up against them 24/7 [Unless I pull my lip up, like in the video] An example she used is like putting a wet rag on a piece of wood; after a while the wood becomes soft. The reason I think it's that, is because they're on the highest point of the gums [the part almost always covered] and in the same spot almost, and yet none of my other teeth have cavities.I also think a little bit of the back of my canines are exposed, because it hurts if I brush directly over the back of them, and when I eat sweets I get a shot of pain so strong my eyes water. They're also sharper and fatter than most canines, because they don't grind on the bottom canines [and so they're sharp too] and they weren't constricted by other teeth. What was funny was when they were growing in. Confused my mom more than anything when my gums started turning white above my others xDImma ask my friend, he had the same thingie I have, raised canines.

lizardfeather • 20 September 2011 at 6:56 PM
@cafe I could see how they would be painful >w< I dunno I guess it's like a choice between epic teeth or braces xD

@lizardfeatherI'm kinda excited to have braces, which I'm told is weird xD I know I'm going to miss my teeth, but it's for the best.

I had braces for a year. The first few days are horrid after getting them on. So have some Tylenol or other pain medication ready 😋 And be prepared to eat super soft food because chewing will be uncomfortable. After the first few days you'll be fine though.

@gvantsaBlachBack to when I had my wisdom teeth removed xDI could only eat super soft foods for a //lonnnggg// time; but then again I had an dry socket which needed to be packed twice
