I forgot to report this a week or two ago, sorry.

So at the advent tree, I got an item when I had 50 items. If somebody has already reported this, I am sorry. But the item was still in my inventory, and now I had 51 items.

@animalliterature It's not a bug. There are many ways to get more than 50 items.
Just put some in your strongroom. That's probably the easiest way.

@animalliterature @brad sometimes site activities don't respect or enforce the 50 items rule, as brad has said. This isn't a glitch but yes it is possible to be overloaded.
