Overview
The Cave is where you "steal/adopt" creatures.
When you click on a dot beneath a creature and click 'Approach Egg', a egg and name input should pop up
It should show the species of the creature and the gender
You can either give it a name to adopt it, or go back to the cave and not adopt it.
If you change your mind within a couple seconds, click on the egg's image in the box at the bottom; it should still be there if you were quick enough

Common Mistakes
Adopting every single egg you find, before realizing(much later)....whoops! Your cove is filled with common eggs/eggs you don't want! And they also take up a LOT of cove space. (Unless you're hoarding stuff)
Trick: You can see (most of) the egg's evolution/stats it needs to evolve by looking up the species in the archives BEFORE you "steal" the egg.(It still might be there if you are fast enough)
Tip: Look on the blog posts for that month, sometimes Egg Cave releases new monthlies; if you happen to come across a monthly or new monthly, cool. Just don't adopt too much, because monthlies, especially new monthlies, are rarer than commons, but usually retired ones are rarer. (Unless you're hoarding stuff)

Thanks for stopping by! I really hoped this helped! For more site info abut the Cave and guidelines, check out the Site Blog and Player Guide! Happy Adopting!

Q and A
Q: What if I can't see the other stages?
A: There is a trick for that. For example, the Mackatron is a Cave creature, and the rest of the stages are ? (question marks). Copy and paste this link (https://static.eggcave.com/90by90/mackatron_1.png) into your browser, but DON'T hit the 'Search' button. Instead, do ya see the 1 in it? https://static.eggcave.com/90by90/mackatron_1.png
Okay. So change the number to a 2 and it should change to the 2nd stage picture. Then change the number to a 3, and then a 4. This rule applies for a Egg Cave creatures.

Q: What does the star in the creature image mean?
A: Well...lucky you! You just got a star creature from the Cave! Lucky you! My advice for you when ya see a creature with a star, (it should say Starred, or something like that where it says star?) usually, starred creatures are very hard to find and star potions cost 100CC, so it's your lucky day. Go and adopt it! If you do not like the color or position of the star, you can adjust it under 'My creatures' and then scroll until you find the starred creature. Finally, don't click on the creature's profile. Under the creature there should be a teeny tiny star, and when your mouse hovers over it is should say, 'Manage star' click on the star, and then you can adjust the color and position of the star. Starred creatures stay happier for longer(they experience slowed hunger) than normal creatures, but if they are under level 2000(immortal), they could still die.
