EVOLUTION - 50 Clicks (Egg) -> 100 Clicks (Hatchling) -> 150 Clicks (Young Adult) -> 200 Clicks (Adult)

EGG DESCRIPTION - Found in damp and dark caves, this egg has adapted an eerie blue glow and a rough, rock-like exterior to protect the inner shell. When broken open prematurely, one can find crystals of a half-formed Gemback inside.

CREATURE DESCRIPTION - Gembacks, as they live in pitch black, have large ears they use to detect their prey. They have no eyes, but their pink nose takes up the majority of their snout. Their tough scales, mistaken commonly for ore or gems, protects them from predators, and their lithe build allows them to squeeze into small cracks. Gembacks have stubby legs with large, thick claws that allow them to dig into the earth for food, and their high-pitched bark helps them navigate their environment. They have a long, slender tail for balance with a tip that tapers off into a crystal used to lure in rodents or smaller creatures.

ABILITIES - The Gemback crystal, when compressed into a powder, can be used in lanterns as a form of oil that can't burn out without being removed.

ENVIRONMENTS - Dark caves, or ore deposits deep within the mines.
