Hello all! I decided to make a random little guide to help some people pick out travels for their most prized creatures! You don't have to use this guide as an "end all", just think of it as a helpful tool.First, I'll give you some terms before we start:Warm Colors - Colors commonly associated with fire, heat, and warmth. Colors include various shades of orange, yellow, red, maroons, dark pinks etc.Cool Colors - The polar opposite (see what I did there?) of Warm Colors. These colors are commonly associated with cold, ice, and frozen things. These Colors can include: blues, light purples, medium purples, pinks, whites, light greens, and pastel shades.Complementary Colors: Colors that "complement" each other. These colors can be found next to each other on the color wheel. Ex. Orange and Yellow (or red), Purple/blue, etc.Color Opposites: Your best friend in helping you choose a background. Helps pieces of art. photos, and the like stand out and draw the human eye in. Use with caution though, some combos may not look good together. These colors are opposites on the color wheel. Red -> Blue, Purple -> Gold, Red -> Green, Black -> WhiteColor Wheel: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/530139a6e4b0c7fb3f1a85e9/5301414de4b00ab549271d79/53d2a516e4b0273d5d183ad6/1445713028364/360_PDF_Color-Wheel-w-tones-%26-tints-%281%29.png?format=500wNow, on to the good stuff! When choosing a travel, I highly recommend using EggCavity's Creature Viewer (http://www.eggcavity.com/creature-viewer) to "try before you buy". This is also a great tool to help you experiment with different travels on your creature. Now, take into consideration your creature's name and colors. We'll use a Goldox as an example since I've gotten a travel picked out for one I'm getting. Now, say I'm going to name this Goldox Skoll, after the sun eating wolf in Norse mythology. I want to consider something to do with the following: Fire, flames, sunlight, apocalyptic background, chaotic world. First, I look at other user's Goldox and see what backgrounds they use. From searching, I've determined that they use cool, icy, backgrounds that blend with the Goldox's cool color scheme. Now, I just need to stay away from those types of backgrounds if I want my Goldox to stand out from the rest. So, after a lot of searching and thinking, I decided on this travel: Haunlupe (Stage 4): The Greater Demon. It's not too flashy and it strays far enough from the usual backgrounds people use for their Goldox to make it stand out. The warmer colors in the background complement the gold of the Goldox's eye and the cooler colors complement it's cooler coat colors. The background also looks chaotic and somewhat apocalyptic which fits the Goldox's name (Skoll) very well. Anyways, let me know if this helped any of you and feel free to comment your creature/background combinations!
