You can have a fictional mentor. (i.e. not one of us). We're mostly kits xD
Also, you can be whatever Clan you want to be. But, I think all the Clans have people in them.

Streamkit stood proudly on the Mossrock (I made that up on the spot 😋). She touched her nose to her new mentor's shoulder as her Clanmates shouted her name: "Streampaw! Streampaw!"
Streampaw stepped down from the Mossrock. Her new name would take some getting used to.

Crowkit growled. Nobody knew he was in RiverClan camp. Not even his own mother. He started at Graystorm. He dark gray fur, and ice blue eyes. It sent a chill down his pie. He just wished that she would notice her own son.

Ok, thanks! I think I will make one of my characters a mentor. 😃

Junepaw stretched a bit and pranced over to the new apprentice, Streampaw. "Congratulations!" she laughed. "Do you think maybe tomorrow our mentors would let us train together tomorrow? That would be fun!" she exclaimed playfully.

Junepaw woke up and stretched. Today she would train with Streampaw. She got a squirrel and ate it before visiting Blackstream. "Ready for training?" he asked. "Yes!" Junepaw exclaimed eagerly. "Good, go get Streampaw and let's get started."

Oh yeah i forgot you started this...any way- will you choose the people going to the gathering?

Blackstream galloped off to the training arena, Junepaw and Stream paw a fox tail behind. Once they reached the sandy tree-lined area, Blackstream immediately started showing them how to fight.
"Streampaw," he addressed."I hear you are a good hunter. So-pretend your enemy is your prey, but you don't have to be so quiet. Try."

The leader chooses that. But, everyone in HerbClan/wants to join HerbClan goes whether the leader says so or not.

"Good job today." Blackstream complemented the apprentices, and then padded to the fresh-kill pile. "You seemed a bit contemplated when you were practicing fighting-are you alright?" Junepaw asked Streampaw when Blackstream was out of sight.

"Yeah. It's just that...you know..." Streampaw fumbled for words. "When I was helping form HerbClan, and later when I was part of HerbClan, I was learning, and teaching others, that we shouldn't fight, but now, we're learning to fight, and I don't think that HerbClan cats should ever fight other Clans, because then we would be fighting our own Clanmates, because HerbClan is just as much a Clan as the other Clans. Do you get what I'm saying?"
