How do you get quest items?

How do you get quest items? I can only find them on the User shop. Are they just rare in regular shops or is there another way to get them?

Users shops, the NPC shops in the Shop tab, and by asking other users is how you get quest items. You can also get them from events or by completing each daily for the Monthly Challenge.

The NPC shops are hit or miss. There are so many items to restock and circulate through, there's a rare chance it'll end up stocking the item you're looking for.

If you can't easily find an item, it's honestly best to just quit the quest and try again in an hour.

The items will show up in the NPC shops. Just exceedingly rarely exactly when you need it.

Each shop (with the exception of Trinket Travels and the Bean Sack) tie in directly with a quest. Going Global pairs with the Travel Agency, Gourmand Quests pairs with the General Food Store, Baked Buns with the Bakery and so on. So if you have the spare ec, you can start getting random items to build a stock pile. Particularly helpful if you are concentrating on one particular quest type.
