What Are Events/Plots?

Hey! I'm super new and I've been seeing some creatures that are available this month, but only through "Events/Plots." What are these? Are they quests? I'm pretty sure the quests are for the vending machine though, so I'm confused how I find these pets. Any help is wonderful, thank you!!

ones available through “Events/Plots” mostly correspond to irl holidays like recently the Choco Exchange event (Feb 14 til the end of the month)

i say mostly as the site does have its own events: CRW (Creature Release Week, last week in Jan where a new creature’s announced (at the end, there’s usually 7 to get)), and Ark Victory Day (July 16-22 as that’s the site’s b-day (with a slight extension))

you can get most of these creatures easily with EC/CC, either through auctions or users willing to give/trade with you
