What have changed in 5 years?

Hi guys, I just came back from a 5 year hiatus and was wondering what have changed.
I see we got dailies and monthly challenges, how it does work? what else are you guys doing lately?
Does creatures still die? I got so many questions, I see names are more popular than they used to be.

Anyways, I'm hoping to hear some news 😊

Firstly, yes, creatures still die. The seeking and trading names thing is something that sprung up a month or two ago, but I don't think having the "right" name has ever gone away.

In regards to new things Dailies/Monthly Challenge would be the big one, and it started 01 Feb 2023. It's a main account only thing and you do need to verify your account to participate (ie give your mobile number to EggCave).
Main points:
- Each day we are given 5 tasks to complete. The tasks come from 4 groups:
a) Feeding - 100, 200, or 300
b) Social - either 3 forum or 3 wall/profile posts. Posts in the Games Forum count as does posting on your own wall.
c) Games - either Trivia question, Wall of Sandrodon, Approach the Asteroid, or Alkub racing bet
d) Other - There will be two from this category. Clicks (100, 200, 300), Click Exchange Clicks (100, 200, 300), Use/Consume items (3, 5, 10), Approach the Cave (10, 12, 15), Restock from NPC shops (5, 10, 15), Donate items (3, 5, 10) and Complete Quests (5, 7, 12)

-The tasks on any given day are the same for everyone.

- You have from midnight to midnight to complete the tasks.

- Each task completed awards a random prize. Ec (I think it's between about 500 and 2000) and a 1 in 3 chance of an available NPC shop item. (I've been taking notes, and what I've been awarded can be found on the pets in my "Random Data" Cove starting at Puppel).

-If you complete all five tasks in a day you also get a chance to spin a wheel with an increase chance of getting a cave monthly pet.

- Complete 25 days in a calendar month and you also win 100CC.

Personally, I love it. It is a way for everyone to earn ec. Plus most of the tasks are things I either do daily or stuff I'd been putting off (like the 200 odd creatures that needed travels). The rewards aren't overly spectacular, and while I haven't calculated what I got over all last year, in 2024 I did get 1200CC, over 2.2 mil ec and over 600 items from completing tasks. It's more a marathon than a sprint sort of thing.

Not any of my creatures died while I was on a hiatus, I don't really know what happend.

The task thing is pretty cool, a way to keep the users active daily. Yeah, it's such a cool way either to earn EC as to get CC without paying with real money. Thank you for such a complete answer.
