Seen any good movies lately?

I watch a lot of movies, because my wife has a passion for cinema. So I figured this could be a good place to trade recommendations maybe? Or just talk about movies we like.

One movie I recommend wholeheartedly is Project Hail Mary. Some unpleasant things happen in it, but it's a very sweet story and it made me really happy.

ooh i've heard project hail mary is super good!! i know multiple people who said it changed their life DGSGD i'll have to give it a watch sometime!!

today i watched war of the worlds (2005) ! i loved the 50's one so i thought i'd give this one a go and it was even better i think 😃 the tripods are so cool, right up there with xenomorphs as my fave alien designs in movies (i wish the actual martians were scarier cos they looked a lil goofy to me but that's just a minor gripe)

Nice! I'll be honest, at first I thought you said "War of the Worlds (2025)", and I was very surprised to see that someone had liked it! I've heard that one's atrocious.

I haven't seen either of the (actually good) movies, but I do like the book! Maybe I'll give the movies a try sometime.

I want to watch, project Hail Mary, but I also want to listen to the audiobook so badly. Something about the narrations are so fun to me lol.

I’ve recently have seen Spider-Man brand new day. So that’s a good one. I’ve also just rewatch K-pop demon hunters with my family too!

I listened to the audiobook way before the movie came out, it's so good! I think book first, movie second is probably the optimal way to go? But it's definitely worth experiencing both if you can.

I don't think I've seen anything past Far From Home, but I really enjoyed that and Homecoming! Tom Holland is so precious as Spider-Man.

I watched Ponyo for the first time the other day and I loved it so much! It's so pretty visually and the character interactions are all adorable

I saw Project Hail Mary a little while ago and fully expected not to like it because one of my professors said she really disliked it– I was pleasantly surprised, it was really sweet

Ponyo is great! My wife and I rewatched it semi-recently. One thing that struck me was what a crazy driver the mom was 🌊 🚗

I'm glad you liked Project Hail Mary! It's hard for me to imagine someone strongly disliking it, but I'm sure your professor has her reasons.
