Usually, I'd help you using logic but I'm kind of stuck on this one. Maybe you should ask a vet what to do with the kittnes; if you want to keep them?

@pirateseaz

Wow.. I'm really sorry for your loss.. It's always hard losing a pet.

You should take kittens to a vet as soon as you can. This article might help you further: http://www.feralcat.com/raising.html 😊
Keep them warm and hydrated enough until you can go to a vet.

@pirateseaz I'm sorry for your loss, I have advice, my family raised orphan kittens☹️ Rush and get a basket, shove an old towel in it, and cover it with a blanket( Place a heating pad in the basket if you have one, put in towel) if no heating pad is available, crank the heat, or place the basket in front of a heater. While somebody watches the kittens, run to Petsmart(or any pet store) and buy kitten formula, like KMR, and small small baby bottles.Also buy some pet potty pads. Go back home, follow directions for kitten formula, and start a bottle feeding. Clean them with a warmish wet rag, and then dry them off. Get up and feed the kittens every 3 hours. I wish you the best of luck....

@pirateseaz i've nursed kitties before!! 😊 i was abroad and the resources available were really scarce so all i did was take a syringe we had lying around, sterilized it, warmed some milk, and fed them the milk through the syringe. it takes a while but it's SO worth it 😉

Wow im really sorry. Cats happen to be my favorite animal.

Even though your cat died, you should be very grateful that you at least have her babies to help remind you of her and help fill a little bit of where she use to be in you heart. 😊

Best of luck to raising the kittens!!

I used the guides and bought a heating pad, and some formula. The kitten meow a lot and I have to feed them every four hours (I will have to get up at 3:24a.m)

My dad was working and he found a litter of baby kittens on the floor and the mother kitten wouldn't feed them so they were dying. ;-; My dad brought them to our house but it was too late and they all died. ☹️

My parents wouldn't do that....
My mom HATES animals... she thinks they should stay in the wild...

@whitefall
Because so many people have pets most dogs and cats don't know how to survive in the wild anymore so with out humans they will all just die.

It was sad!! I was trying not to cry (because know one knows I'm squishy inside XP) Their fur was so soft they didn't even open their eyes yet. The last one to die had pure white fur and it was so puffy. 😊

I can't remember if he/she was a girl or boy. O-O I think boy though... I was the one that woke up at 3 am to feed them when they were crying. I just couldn't sleep because I was worried about them and if I didn't do it my mom would have to (My mom does too much already, cooking, working, and her back hurts).

AND MY SISTERS ARE SO LAZY!

I don't really know anything about cats because I'm a dog person but I would take them to a vet soon. I have a question for all cat and dog owners, is losing a cat or a dog more difficult?

Deleted • 21 October 2011 at 10:06 PM

@pirateseaz hope they all live long lives!😸 Two of the three kitties we nursed survived, the third little baby had a genetic problem....☹️ Be sure to call your vet, they can help nurse the little babies;) If the work is too overwhelming, develop a system that works, like the easiest kitties fed first, or you feed one kitty, while somebody feeds another, so the work is done twice as fast. I wish you luck, an.d give you my deepest appologies for your mama kitty TT^TT

@pirateseaz
I'm sorry about your cat :[ It's tragic losing a pet that you love.

Kso, the advice people are giving you is great, so are the links, but I've noticed something people aren't mentioning; how the kittens use the bathroom.

Most new born kits can't defecate on their own. That would be the mother's job. She's lick their bottom to stimulate pooping. So, since she's not there, that's where you come in.

Right after you feed them, take a damp [Warm] cotton ball and rub their bottom gently from front to back. [He may pee, so get a clean one on hand]. This will be some what like the mother's tongue.

Now, kits //need// to go to the vet. If you can't afford it, try and find a shelter near by. Let them know that the mother died, and you need to have them checked out [for dehydration, stuff like that] And they'll probably do it for you, for cheap.

When the kits get about 6 months old you need to fix them; they can breed with each other and you will most likely have more kits on your hand.

Please, get them fixed. [Cheap at the ASPCA/Shelters near by] I don't condone breeding cats and dogs, as there are too many already. Every kitten/puppy born, takes the space of a cat that needs a home.

If you need any other help, simply ask me :]
I know a lot about this stuff, because I'm going to foster kits that can't take care of themselves until they're of age to be adopted.
