I would say they're pretty close. Gobbler might be slightly more rare.

I'd think Foos are more popular.
However that's just my opinion.
I'd rather have a Foo than a Gobbler.

@GLaDOS just traded her last stage Foo for a first stage Gobbler with @Delfin99.
It's really based on what you like and what you don't.
Gobblers had bit of a craze a little while back,
but I think it's calmed down.
You shouldn't let a critter's rarity make you like it more.

I think the Gobbler is rarer, but the Foo is more popular.


As for the 09 Balrog, it's mostly because it's probably one of the few Original 251 Balrogs still existing.

Because, If someone asked you if you'd trade them your Skulline for their Gobbler, would you? Yes. So is that going be rarity? Yes. Many of us like to think that we rate by how much we like the creature, but alas, that is not the truth.

The value is determined completely by supply and demand. High demand + low supply = values skyrocket. But if a pet simply isn't liked as much it won't be as valuable. I think a first stage frozen Foo is worth the same as a first stage frozen Gobbler, simply because of the supply and demand issue, Foos are liked by much more people than Gobblers.

I don't like Gobblers AT ALL. They're boring -.-

I would trade my Skrulline for a Gobbler simply to re-trade.
I dislike Gobblers a lot, except for the gorgeous eggs.
However,
think about how Treelars are pretty rare.
Probably about the same rarity as a Gobbler...
Okay not the same,
but kinda close.. xD Haha.
But they don't trade for much at all.

I also agree with @dionaea. But I do think it's quite complicated, because it is different with the stages as well, because different people like different stages. I also think it's complicated because of peoples opinions, because if most eggcave users want a 1st stage Gobbler and not a Foo than they would be willing to give more for a Gobbler than a Foo so at that stage in time Gobblers would be rarer. But things change in time so a week later a Foo might be rarer as people want that more.

Yesh, gobblers were out for 1 day, and it was CC. Foos and other 09's were released for months. 😉

And you could not see what egg you were stealing from the cave at the time.

And weren't Gobblers out for two? 😱

Foes are rarer. Theyr more popular, and older, and way back then, you didn't know what you were stealing from the cave until you stole it. Gobblers were $5 yes, but you knew you were getting one, and even though not many were bought, foo are still rarer😋

I think people get rarer and popular mixed up. I would have to agree that gobblers are more rarer but foos are more popular. More people have foos then people have gobblers, so I would think. When gobblers came out not many people were on the computer because it was thanksgiving but when foos came out many people were able to get them. Many have died but I still think you can find almost one foo in everyone cove but you can't say the same for gobblers.
