I've had a very strange revelation today. I pulled an ice-cream sandwich from the freezer, and when I opened the package the sandwich was misshapen, with a thicker chocolate cookie coating and a more creamy vanilla middle. It was twice as delicious as a normal ice-cream sandwich because it had more chocolate and vanilla, and even though it was malformed it was two times better than a normal one. Then I started comparing it to people. A person who may be considered ugly or different or misshapen may just be twice as good as a regular person, because once you peel back the layers (the outer coating, like the wrapper on the ice-cream sandwich) you may find a surprising treat beneath. The people who are different always tend to be the ones we enjoy the most, or so it seems. People who act and think similarly just don't seem to excite or enthrall us as much as a unique person, even if that person is physically unappealing or even "revolting".I'm sorry if this thread makes no sense 😋. It's just me being philosophical.

@lenNo, I think what she's trying to say is that you shouldn't judge people based on looks.I applaud you on this, @briseis. 😃 -Applause-

@len I'm not insulting anyone. I'm saying that unique people are usually the people we are drawn to. Regular people are just fine; but regular people often gravitate towards an idividual that's completely unique and fascinating. We all have elements of that in ourselves, of course. That's what makes all human beings different from each other.

Agreed. 😉 Normal people are boring. 😋

I'm not saying normal people are boring...I'm just saying someone unique or just simply different can be more interesting and rewarding than just going with the crowd and being one of the "group". Think about it. That box of ice-cream sandwiches fits 10 bars. Most likely all 10 bars will be identical. There's no uniqueness or difference and they all basically taste the same. But once in awhile you may find a different sandwich that may have a thicker chocolate coating, more vanilla, or maybe even a mix of vanilla and strawberry or chocolate because of an assembly-line mishap. THOSE sandwiches are normally the ones we pay attention to, and oftentimes we find those sandwiches to be more rewarding or "special". Apply that to people, and there you go.

@briseiswell, my point is no one is regular. O_oLike you said, everyone is different. So why should some people be *better* or more *interesting* than others in their differences? Why should people be labelled as *regular* while others are labelled *unique*? Because you said it yourself - everyone is different. O_o That's what I don't get. No offence. I think your metaphor was great 😃
