People at school are going overboard with talking about prom/homecoming. It's really getting to me and I've been depressed this entire week because of it.

On Monday, only 10 students came to Economics class because of a band trip. So what did we talk about the entire period? How AMAZING homecoming was, and how AWESOME it was to go out with your date. And my teacher had the nerve to say if someone didn't have a date for prom she'd pair us up with someone else. How pathetic is that?

In our IES groups today (also in Econ class) we somehow got on the topic of prom, and one of my group members said "I'd be SO upset if I didn't get a date to prom. I just wouldn't go." That's me. But I know I won't be asked to prom, no matter how much I want to. I'm not going by default. At least she's pretty and popular and she has a boyfriend. Those are three things I'll never have. It's not like she'd ever have to worry about the things I have to worry about.

Sigh. This week sucks.

Just need to vent. If it bothers you to read it, don't.

I agree with Nkiay and Angel. Vent somewhere else, seeing these topics is getting annoying.

You can SO enjoy prom without a date. Go with a group of friends. When I went to Prom me and my friends rented a party bus together and went as a group! It was loads of fun, one of the best nights ever 😉

@Brises I had a lot more fun the year I went to prom without the guy than the year I was asked. My friends (including those that had the boyfriend) staked out a corner on the dance floor, threw off our shoes, and had so much fun just being crazy.

@Brises
I don't understand why you feel so sorry for yourself...
There's people in Africa that don't even know what prom is.
Be happy for what you have(:
