@avelaingia

Well, the tallow, anyone can see by just reading the ingredients. The commercials you can also see or read about anywhere. Also, the palm oil is in the ingredients and simple research can find where it was imported from.

Oh yes, and pleased to meet you, i'm Nemonica. =)

1. All soap adds use nudity in adds to sell their products.

2. All soap is made from tallow.

3. Palm oil is ONLY unhealthy to ingest, simply because it is mad up of saturated fats. Palm oil is used in many products, mainly food. The companies that produce and package the oil are the ones that are destroying the rainforest. Dove, like may other company's, simply buys the finished product.

Hmm~
Just saying this, although this may be true/false, you could easily pick out bad things about a lot of other products & companies.

I don't see anything wrong with the nude part... There are embracing womens bodies actually in their commercial and making them feel beautiful.

I will approach this one egregious statement at a time.

1) Female nudity is used in many soap-type product commercials, not to instill dirty imagery, but to show its usage as an item you use in a shower, where you would not usually wear clothes.

2) Tallow is an ingredient in dove soap and it is made from the fat of animals, yet what is the problem there? It is most likely gotten from animals that are already being slaughtered for food (because the government would not allow the killing of livestock if the meat wasn't going to be used for food) and you may as well use everything you can. That's called being resourceful, which I consider good.

3) I thought palm oil was only unhealthy to ingest. Rubbing it on your skin will only make it smooth, as it is oil. And there must be restrictions on deforestation, therefore that can be a cause for concern, but not a reason to boycott dove altogether.

I don't use Dove products, but that is not influenced by these statements. I just don't like the scent. Everyone is allowed their own opinion, but I do not see this petition or the movement itself going anywhere. The statements aren't backed up by links, and the reasons aren't viable enough, at least, not for me.

And hi, I'm Lia. 😊

@qwerty732797 Well, as for tallow...i'm vegetarian so maybe thats why i'm such a freak..

@avelaingia I've only gotten it from multiple sites that say the same thing on the subject...so, no, i'm not sure. =)

@nkiay
1. Actually, I don't believe they do...

2. There are alternatives to tallow, I myself have soap that isn't made from tallow...

3. This may be true. Forgive me, i'm not the best at facts and debate. =)

Again, I know i need to work a lot on facts and debate. I'm sorry if this starts fights and arguments. ((I tend to do that a lot >.<)) But this is just the facts i've gathered and the belief i support. =P

Adios, loves! I have foodz to eat 😉

My take on this ^^" :

1) You don't expect us to take baths/showers with clothes on, do you?

2) Soap is originally made with animal fat/oils. That's pretty normal...

3) It won't be bad for you unless if you have a strange obsession for eating soap.

1. I have no problem with suggestive ads. A hot woman is a hot woman. In my opinion

2. Slaughter of cows and sheep are needed to feed an ever-growing country. They probably use the leftover fat that, I dunno, you can't EAT. I like my burgers, anyways.

3. Cry me a river. You want less forest destruction? Become a world power and exert billions of dollars to stop it. I don't like it, but I can't do much about it.

Also, rubbing oil on your body actually keeps your skin HEALTHY. Coconut oil is used extensively for a skin rejuvenator, not to mention hundreds of other natural oils and even fats.

Just my thoughts.
