If you were in my situation.I'm a 15 year old girl with a fancy touch-screen Galaxy S cell phone.I dropped it in the toilet. Twice.Everything is fine except it won't make any sound. It won't let me talk on the phone or listen to music..My daddy says I have to go get a new phone NOW.He needs to talk to me.I have insurance on my phone, but I doubt it covers water damage...So my dad told me to get the new pretty iPhone. You would think I would be excited. But I'm not.I feel as if I don't deserve one.I have bad grades. Really bad.And I've just had exactly the wrong attitude towards... everyone in my life except my dad.I feel as if when I go into the store and I do have to pick out a new phone,I'm gonna go look though the flip phones. So I don't have this guilt on my shoulders. What are your thoughts?

@toy for school once we took this pedometer challenge thing, and I had two, an old pokemon one from my cousins, and the one school gave us.I dropped both in the toilet. XP I was too embarressed to tell anybody though....I suggest athe flip-phone, even if you didn't feel guilty. Like, do you really need to pay for texting and all that other garb? Email using the computer, or call the person for real😋 I suggest flip-phone, buy the minutes when you need em(Carry a spare minute card Just in case) But first call the insurance people first, it SHOULD cover any and all damage;) Also if you have a warranty that's still good you can have it replaced😊 Just say you dropped it....In the fish bowl? XPIdk, just don't say the toilet X3

@icicle_9510I used to have the Pokemon pedometers❤️Well, on my phone plan I have unlimited minutes and texts.Texting on a flip phone won't be hard, just embarrassing haha. And I don't plan on telling them I dropped it in water at all o-eJust that I dropped it on the floor a few times. But can't they tell if its been in water or not?

@toy uhhhhhhhhhh.....Blow dry the battery? X3 and Don't be embaressed😋 It's called being practical;) If someone made fun of me for having a flip-phone, they'd better learn to get used to the embarresment after I punch em 😉 If they DO ask about water, just use either a fish bowl excuse, the rain excuse, or the fountain excuse(Uh-uh-uh-I was texting, and I walked(Or dropped me phone) into the fountain XP)

@toyHow on earth do you people drop these things in toilets? XD Sorry X) My brother did that to his iPod touch. I don't know how DXAnyway. If your grades are bad, then you just need to put some time aside for revision! And if you don't your attitude, then read some books, whatever, and find one you do like, and model yourself on that 😊Well, that's what I do 😸And I think if you can, you should get the phone that you want, whatever that is. You should do it for all the people who can't. And by getting it, you should make a promise to work on your grades, and your attitude. Then see how that works out for you X)Because guilt is a really stupid emotion that you should get rid of ASAP X)

No need to text... o-oAll you need in a phone is to be able to call someone.I don't get why everyone's so obsessed with texting.Is it useful...?Not really.But if was used to useful things, I'd say it was...But most people text like this:P1 HeyP2 HeyyyP1 how ru?P2 idkkkkP1 -_-P2 omgP1 wutP2 idkP1 omg i'm almost out of textsP2 seriously P1 yeahP2 let's use them all upP1 yeahP2 yeahP1 yeahP2 yeahP1 lolP2 lolP1 this is my last texttP2 omg ._.

@icicle_9510I just threw my phone in some dry rice. And restarted it.Its back to brand new -.-;@smiliesEh. Even if I did go to the store, since I don't have the upgrade it would have cost my dad $650 for the iPhone I want. But thanks so much for the advice❤️And I dropped it in the toilet because it was in my back pocket.... And yeah.@whitefallI love texting. Its just like instant messaging.I use it when they can't pick up the phone,so they can get back to me later.

toy • 12 November 2011 at 2:42 PM

maineen • 12 November 2011 at 2:43 PM
*feels left out* I don't have a phone xDDDD
briseis • 12 November 2011 at 2:44 PM
You'd be embarrassed to have a flip phone? To be honest, a lot of people would consider themselves lucky to have a phone at all, let alone have an expensive touch screen. But I don't need to tell you that do I? At least your phone is alright. $600 dollars for a new phone is absolutely ridiculous.

@maineen:c I'm sorry...@briseisI'm a spoiled little girl that goes to a high school full of other rich spoiled girls.^^; Vegas sucks, bruh. But yeah I'd be embarrassed of a flip phone I admit.I sound stuck up, I guess I am a little.I appreciate everything my parents do/buy for me.That's why I was even considering getting a phone I don't really like over a phone I'd love to have...Yeah, and the Verizon guy wouldn't even tell me the prices...He had to call my dad to say 'your underage daughter called us asking prices, I'll tell you them and have you call her.'I don't think that was really necessary...@dawnieI'd rather sell my computer than my phone... p:

@toy it's ok😃edit:@dawnie 😋
briseis • 12 November 2011 at 3:00 PM
@toy just because you live in a spoiled area doesn't mean you have to be spoiled too. I live in a rich area and I'm not spoiled in the least.I don't mean to be rude, but if you appreciate the things your parents buy for you, wouldn't you be grateful for any phone, no matter how "uncool" it is? A phone is for calling and texting; it doesn't have to be fancy. Trust me, people who rely on having nice things and plenty of money fall flat on their faces in college, unless of course mommy and daddy are paying for everything and anything. You have to learn to be thrifty and take what you can get without worrying about how "embarrassing" it is.
whitefall • 12 November 2011 at 3:16 PM
I don't have a phone... 😱Or want one really...o-oBut you leave a voicemail~@toy @dawnieWell if you say things you don't want to be heard, doesn't that mean they aren't supposed to be said? .__.
toy • 12 November 2011 at 3:34 PM
@briseisI never said that.I'm just saying that's what I've been born into.He was the one who offered to pay for the fancy phone(:He's also willing to pay for a car and college when I get there.I'm set for life, if I get the grades.I'm very appreciative, I show him by taking care of my Diabetes and working through this divorce with him.If I was a spoiled brat I'd let him buy my love and forget that he even exists and live with my mom and make him pay child support. That's how I view it.And I've offered to get a job as soon as I hit 16 and I told my dad to get my a car that has 30 years on it.And he says if I pick my grades up,none of that will happen.Don't tell me I'm gonna fall flat without mommy and daddy.Of course, as of right now I don't exactly consider my dad my dad at all. He's being more of a friend than anything else.
briseis • 12 November 2011 at 3:44 PM
@toy I never said that you were spoiled; I said that just because you live in a rich area doesn't mean you have to be spoiled. I grew up in a rich area, and I'm not spoiled despite the money floating around, and I never have been.It must be nice to have a car and have college paid for. I paid for my 2005 Chevy Cobalt ($6500), my cellphone ($150), and I pay for my own clothes, makeup, and of course other expenses, such as movies or outings at the mall with friends. I started saving up for a car 2 years before I actually had my license. My money comes from tutoring and working around the house, as well as helping my dad at his job five times a month. I will have to use financial aid in college if I want to actually go to college. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't need to rely on anyone. I can take care of myself, 100%. I don't rely on my parents for anything; for cash, for a car, for college. I know how to take care of those things on my own. In my opinion, someone who struggles in college is someone who has never had to pay for anything on their own, or someone who relied heavily on their parents to buy things for them. I'm not saying you're like that, of course. Don't read into my response as a literal criticism of you.
