Okay, so I have been watching a lot of videos on reasons to not eat meat or wear animal skin, and... I am facing some inner conflicts.

So, for my birthday I want some real UGG boots, my parents told me they would get me some the year after my feet stop growing. And guess what? Sha-bam, I am 14 and my feet have stopped growing. But the bad news. They are made of sheepskin, and I have recently seen videos (DO NOT WATCH THEM, THEY GIVE ME NIGHT MARES AND I HAVE A STRONG TOLERANCE FOR GROSS STUFF) of skinned animals. They do it while they are conscious and I dunno if UGG does that, but I don't want to support the skinning of animals. But I do want warm cozy boots D:

Second, I don't want to eat meat. Fish being an exception for me because I need some kind of protein. I kinda want to do Vegan, but if I go to someone's house, I don't want to be a picky eater. Also I will miss my On the Border tacos.

My other problem is big and I think I will post that later. Any advice?

@balletninja

Fon the first problem..did you look up if UGG boots use the REAL sheepskin? Or do they..like treat it first? Theyre really comfy i want a pair for Christmas ;D
You still arent REALLY doing anything bad by wearing them, and im pretty sure they treat the sheepskin first. And UGG boots come in all different types, too, so some probably arent made of it.

@pizza5pizza5 Like Fuggs (fake uggs) are worse, using raccoon dog skin on their boots and skinning them live. Hopefully Ugg sheep owners are much more humane. And does it matter if they treated it? They still had to skin some poor sheep out there.

@balletninja You're not doing anything bad by wearing sheepskin boots 😊 As long as you like them, try not to think about that 😊

And don't worry about the eating thing, you can always not eat meat and make SOME exceptions 😋 And you will always get your protein and you really have to decide for yourself 😊 And I'm sorry to say, but if you don't eat meat it won't make much of a difference to the cruelty from companies to animals ☚ī¸ But if yo feel that you want to, it's totally up to you 😊

@pizza5pizza5 They are just horrible. My dad asks me why I don't want the off-brands. Ignorance.

But yeah, you think uggs would let the sheep live out their lives so they can get a ton of wool from them. Then skin them after they are dead hopefully.

@spenser_dog_123 I don't want to condone what they are doing to animals. If we all take a stance; it could change something. And also, meat on large doesn't taste all that great to me (with few exceptions)

@balletninja

I actually think the do. Fake uggs DEFIANTLY DONT. I never buy off-brands. Not even converse-off-brands 😋

@pizza5pizza5 Yeah, it hurts the brands sales. It is like me making cookies then giving them a really cool name and for a while everyone is buying them because they taste good and are made with love and natural ingredients.

Then one day a greedy person starts baking cookies with fatty ingredients; they taste good but give you stomach aches and are terrible. But they do cost less and take less time to make. In the end, I think the labor of love wins over the fake.

Weird story, but makes sense. Sorta.

Don't buy UGG boots then, by a knockoff brand. Most knockoff brands use fake sheepskin or synthetic materials. To be honest, even UGG boots most likely do not use real sheepskin. It's more expensive and the skin is harder to work with than synthetic materials.

If you don't want to eat meat, then don't. Human beings can survive without it. I don't eat meat and I turned out fine.

If you want meat that's raised "humanely", go to a farmer's market. Even here in Arizona we have them. You may find meat there, as well as vegetables and fruits.

I kind of feel the same way, but mine is definitely more from a health standpoint rather than must-save-all-poor-animals standpoint. I don't really eat that much meat to begin with; in fact, I practically live off fruit and fish because I like those things and I'm a picky eater.😋

But if you're worried about the well-being of animals used for food, I know that there are certain meats that will say how the animals were raised so that you can ensure they weren't treated like utter crap before they were killed for food.
