The last blog post about log in updates got us thinking... it's time to unify main and side accounts under a single sign on once and for all. No more logging in and logging out to switch accounts and having to remember it all. Coming very soon, after you log in to your main account you will be able to see all of its linked sides and sign in with a single click (without a username, email, password).
This solves the problem of needing so many email addresses. Review your main and side account settings now. Main and side accounts that are not declared will not be linked and will retain their own individual log in credentials.
These changes will be coming in a week or two. Stay tuned for the formal announcement and date that this will go live. You'll have ample heads up.

I'll miss the SMS verification. That one is easier for me than checking e-mail. But otherwise this sounds great! Excited to have all under one. Question: does it mean that the sides don't need their own e-mail addresses after the change? @Ian Would be nice to end some e-mails.

Someone else asked about if other will be able to see what sides you have? I'd like to know too. Or can we hide them from others? @Ian

@megamisama90 those options to show/hide main and sides are coming, too! Side accounts won't need their own email address with this change, correct. You'd "recover" your password for your main account and main account only to regain access to them all.

@hinokazes where does it say you need SMS verification to do that? we've never needed phone numbers to verify sides/mains. altho it's been a bit so idr how you establish sides lol

To verify sides, on your main account, go to Preferences in the side bar, then Main & Side Accounts (the fifth choice,) and type in your side username, email linked with it, and the side's password. Hope that helps! : )

While I will be sad to see the sms verification for daily/monthly tasks go, I think I'll be fine giving it up for the "one email for all accounts" thing. The main barrier for me not having a side was not wanting to deal with multiple emails.
