The Trade Center is now open in Ark City!

2010_01_tradecenter.jpg

The day has finally arrived... THE TRADE CENTER IS NOW OPEN to the general public. We hope that this assists you in trading and swapping creatures SAFELY. :) We know it will!

Although the Trade Center has went through extensive testing, please submit any bugs you may find via the Contact form. We appreciate it! :)

The Frequently Asked Questions page has been updated with all of the information you need to know regarding the Trade Center. We're going to redo the page altogether soon, but here's what you need to know:

What is the Trade Center? Where is it located?

The Trade Center is where Ark citizens can trade their creatures. It is located in the northeast part of Ark City, behind the Town Hall and Adoption Center.

How many creatures can I trade at a time? How many can I offer?

You can trade as many creatures as you'd like. However, each trade lot can only contain 5 creatures. Also, each offer can only contain 5 creatures.

Not all of my creatures are being shown on the "Create New Trade" page!

That is because that creature is either in one of your other lots or you've offered it on another lot. Each creature can only be in one lot at a time.

What's up with this "exceeding 100 creatures" message? What does it mean?

Each user on Egg Cave can only have 100 creatures at any given time. This rule has been in place since of the beginning of the site (it's nothing new).

If you're offering on a lot and receive this message, you need to change how many eggs you're offering. If you have 100 creatures and lot you're offering on a lot that contains 5 eggs, you need to offer 5 eggs to stay within the bounds of the "100 Creatures Rule." If you had 100 eggs and offered only 4 creatures on a 5-creature lot, in the case that your offer would be accepted, the resulting amount of creatures you would own would be 101!

If you're trying to accept an offer and receive this message, you simply cannot accept offer because of the number of creatures you currently own. To solve this, you need to contact the "buyer" asking him or her to adjust their offer. Egg Cave does not support the abandonment of creatures to maintain this rule.

Do backgrounds transfer with creatures that are traded?

Yes.

What happens if the creature I am trading currently has services booked at Tim's Food Shoppe?

The services will continue and be transferred to the new owner of your creature.

Can creatures die if they are being traded?

Yes. If they die, they will simply be removed from your trade lot or offer automatically. It is important to feed all of your creatures daily!

Do my creatures' views increase for being in the Trade Center?

No.

How long can my trade be up?

Thirty days. If you do not accept any offers within 30 days, your trade will be automatically closed.

NOTE TO BETA TESTERS : All trade lots and offers have been cleared from the Trade Center as there was a major bug. ;D

ENJOY!

Well... "Awhile" gives you more time to save EC, right? 😸

frescotux1o1 • 27 Jan 2010, 7:37 PM

Come on, do you really think Ian will make the price that high? I mean look at how much everything else costs here.

Meteoroid • 27 Jan 2010, 8:04 PM

It will probably cost a great deal of EC to convert it to the Cash Shop currency. After all, Ian would not make a profit if he didn't.

ginna3525 • 27 Jan 2010, 9:01 PM

yeah i got my male Honk and Ghosty, thanks to open the trading center Ian

frescotux1o1 • 27 Jan 2010, 9:11 PM

@ meteoroid: Then why would he even HAVE EC convert option if he wants to make a profit?

Meteoroid • 27 Jan 2010, 9:14 PM

@ frescotuz1o1: So the usual people will not WHINE that they have no "monieeeezz" and how unfair it is.

Meteoroid • 27 Jan 2010, 9:15 PM

So by making it a high amount of EC, people will not be constantly buying stuff from the shop for "free".

dragonkeeper • 27 Jan 2010, 10:21 PM

I guees we will have to wait and find out the how much egg will be once its come out in the shop and save wile we wait untill it does

wen • 27 Jan 2010, 11:37 PM

Does anyone think I can get a balorgipuwet for two terrons, I don't really like collecting more than one of a kind and I still need one...

silverserpent • 28 Jan 2010, 3:29 AM

Information highlight: Honks need 450 feeds to fully evolve. 😸

space • 28 Jan 2010, 6:03 AM

losorlaugh • 28 Jan 2010, 10:38 AM

IAN!!! LISTEN!!! RELEASE THE RHINEDORF TO EVERYONE!!!

converse • 28 Jan 2010, 10:47 AM

Hey has anyone found out anymore information on the mo because I have a hunch on that...It seems the mo is the exact oppisite to the terron

converse • 28 Jan 2010, 10:48 AM

so if the terron come out at 3am est them I think the mo comes out at 3pm est

nyxulfr • 28 Jan 2010, 11:16 AM

@converse - I don't think that's correct, people are getting a Mo when they are looking for Terrons after all. 😋

nyxulfr • 28 Jan 2010, 11:16 AM

And I think we should be prepared to pay a lot of EC for the Rhino, think about what the travells costs.

nyxulfr • 28 Jan 2010, 11:17 AM

But I'm waiting more for the Calla then for the Rhino. 😸

ravenstar_1997 • 28 Jan 2010, 12:15 PM

What the Rhino, What Rhine Village?? If you have time feed my eggies!!

sparklefox • 28 Jan 2010, 1:48 PM

@isorlaugh I agree with you! IAN!!! LISTEN!!! RELEASE THE RHINEDORF TO EVERYONE!!! I want one and is waiting for the Cash Shop.

sparklefox • 28 Jan 2010, 1:52 PM

Ooops ment loserlaugh

dionaea • 28 Jan 2010, 2:32 PM

I don't think the Rhinedorf will cost over a million EC, the travels & adoption center aren't that expensive either

Meteoroid • 28 Jan 2010, 3:01 PM

I honestly support the idea of it being very expensive to convert EC into Cash Shop currency. Ian deserves to make a profit.

Meteoroid • 28 Jan 2010, 3:02 PM

Servers are definitely not cheap to maintain, that I know.

3heartbreaker3 • 28 Jan 2010, 3:52 PM

well i kind of expected the rhinedorf to cost something like10 million ec or soemthing, i mean after all thats like the only other way to

3heartbreaker3 • 28 Jan 2010, 3:53 PM

get it so it has to be really expensive

silverserpent • 28 Jan 2010, 4:39 PM

10 million EC is _really_ expensive... O__O;

frescotux1o1 • 28 Jan 2010, 4:51 PM

Probably only 1 person has every reached that much though, do u guys really think it's that expensive?

converse • 28 Jan 2010, 4:52 PM

I didnt say they only come out then I said I said I think there is a greater chance on getting one then

elluwah • 28 Jan 2010, 5:15 PM

I think that the eggs at the Cash Shop SHOULD be expensive. It stops people buying everything straight away, and it also sounds like a -

elluwah • 28 Jan 2010, 5:16 PM

- place where you can choose which type you want, which should cost something. Otherwise, what's the point?

Meteoroid • 28 Jan 2010, 5:18 PM

Exactly, elluwah. 😊 I know people will, for some some inexplicable reason, rage at the fact it is expensive, but the main point of the-

inkdweller • 28 Jan 2010, 5:19 PM

Before anyone comments on how Elluwah has a Riendof & of course she wouldn't complain, I have to agree that she is right.

mellyottl • 28 Jan 2010, 5:19 PM

5000, 25000, 500000, or 2000000 EC is really expensive?

Meteoroid • 28 Jan 2010, 5:19 PM

Cash Shop is to buy stuff with REAL money, not EC. Besides, it won't kill you to not be the first to get a new egg or something. If you are-

Meteoroid • 28 Jan 2010, 5:20 PM

-truly dedicated to the Egg Cave, you would not complain.

inkdweller • 28 Jan 2010, 5:22 PM

Also enough with rushing Ian!!! Running a website is hard enough but he has to run multiple ones. It seems simple to release this stuff but-

inkdweller • 28 Jan 2010, 5:24 PM

it's a LOT of work especialy when you have to balance it with REAL LIFE! And I agree with @Meteriod on his last comment too.

3heartbreaker3 • 28 Jan 2010, 5:39 PM

ya Ian does deserve a break, he works very very hard. and i thought the cahs shop would only be ec, not real money...

silverserpent • 28 Jan 2010, 5:44 PM

Well... Instead of launching the cash shop here and now maybe Ian could just write a small post about it so we knew what to expect. 😸

silverserpent • 28 Jan 2010, 5:45 PM

Then there wouldn't have to be any more questions or semi arguments about it... 😋

dragonkeeper • 28 Jan 2010, 5:45 PM

yes I agree with inkdweller and hartbreaker ian does a verry good job here and tryes his best too plase everyone

juliajuicebox13 • 28 Jan 2010, 5:50 PM

Yeah. 😊 Ian's amazing and does a lot around here. 😊

lizardfeather • 28 Jan 2010, 6:00 PM

Anyone want some extra eggs, I got plenty!!!!!!!!! 😉

thursdays_dove • 28 Jan 2010, 6:16 PM

I think the the items in the Cash Shop should and probably will cost a lot more than people are expecting. It's like how certain limited-

thursdays_dove • 28 Jan 2010, 6:16 PM

-edition pets on Neopets cost a lotttt of NP to get. It all boils down to working hard for it.

kaplooosh • 28 Jan 2010, 7:07 PM

i thought ian said this website was free ? look on "the cove" page . it says : 'Best of all, these adoptables are free.' so the cash shop-
