CDWC UPDATE - We made a boo-boo. We were accidentally saving the egg description text field to BOTH the egg description AND creature description fields in the database which basically means that... we didn't save your creature descriptions for the CDWC. Oops. Our bad.

We've re-opened your entries for editing in the CDWC. Please fill in your creature descriptions for your entries. And if you're feeling a second wave of inspiration, feel free to edit your egg descriptions too.

ACTION REQUIRED: For existing entries, please re-enter your creature description. We didn't save your information right. Sorry about that! This will NOT happen again!

CREATURE DESCRIPTION CONTESTS - We're introducing a brand-new, official community contest at Egg Cave! It's the Creature Description Writing Contest ("CDWC"). It's accessible under the global Community tab.

We'll post a collection of creatures in the contest area and you can write a submission for the egg description and creature description as it would appear in The Archives. Once we pick the best creature description combination, the winner will have their name credited in The Archives entry, be able to shape the site's lore and story arc, and will receive this creature for free even if it ends up being a Cash Shop Monthly.

Here's the fine print:

• Become eligible for entering the contest by posting 100 quality forum posts.
  
• You can't name the species; only site staff can. Use a placeholder species name in your submissions. This helps everybody have an equal chance at creature naming once the species is released in real time.
  
• Not all new Egg Cave species will appear in the CDWC. Site staff will still write descriptions behind closed doors.
  
• When a creature disappears from the CDWC, it does not mean that it will be immediately available for release.
• Right now, creatures that appear in the CDWC won't be there for a set time. In other words, some creatures might be posted there for weeks, others might only be there for days. We may standardize this in the future but not for right now.
  
• Egg Cave staff reserves the right to modify your submission. We really, really don't plan on doing this (like ever) but there is a possibility that we may have to tweak a winning submission for contradictory inter-species issues, grammatical issues, or long-term site planning (i.e. plots). The goal as a contestant is that you would be familiar enough with the site's lore to avoid these issues.

BRAND NEW CASH SHOP TRAVELS - These brand-new Cash Shop Travels are now available at the Cash Shop Park for 50 CC! They'll be available for roughly a month and then expire forever.

   

NEW READING - These new books are now available for reading at Leila Library.

   

DOUBLE/TRIPLE FEED DAY - It's that time of month again! For today only, you can receive up to double or triple Egg Coins for feeding. Have fun!

TRINKET TRAVELS - Today, we're introducing a brand new feature called Trinket Travels. Ever wanted to add wings to your Frice or a cape to your Pyraguin? Well now you can.

Trinket Travel item names indicate which evolution stage the Travel is intended for. Trinket Travels, however, are available for use on all species and all evolution stages (so there are no restrictions if you're feeling ultra-creative or if a Chimera Trinket Travel happens to look good on your Alkub coincidentally!).

CLICK EXCHANGE FIXES - We're sorry about the Click Exchange problems since April 27. These problems have been completely fixed. The Click Exchange has been cleared and reset for the day.

CREATURE IMAGES - All creature images are now displaying the correct evolution and customization options. We apologize for this outstanding caching issue. Creature images update instantly now!
