I've been on eggcave for awhile, but I still have no idea who else had ever read this series, or any books by Rick Riordan.

@taffy789 I think his percy jackson series is awesome! his other young adult series though, kane chronicles and heroes of olympus are just... meh. he does 2 in a year which is pretty rushed and it kinda shows up in the writing. :/

@redfire77 ~ I love his writing style though. 😊
He uses humor in his characters, which makes them seem alive to me. Even his chapters have funny titles. If he has bad writing in his new books, i'm laughing to hard to notice. XD

@taffy789 yep, but there's too much showing, not telling, and in the 1st book of heroes of olympus, it take OVER 100 PAGES to introduce all the characters. almost half the book :/

@taffy789 no, the trailer was just... ugh. they had a clicky pen instead of a cap pen like in the books! D:< and I hate percy, he's really retarded. <---is that a bad word? it just has a negative connotation, right? it literally means slow, or having an iq less than 70, which he does. my fav character is annabeth

The movie was STUPID!!! I can't believe I made my mom waster 5 dollars on that JUNK!!!!! >: (
They messed up the bad guy, saying it was hades, and then they killed off Luke!!!
At least that means there won't be a squel. >: /

Rick Riordan is a great writer. 😃 I don't really like the new Kane Chronicles, though; they're just too much like Percy Jackson for me.

My friends at school and I all agree that the PJ movie is... Well, to put it simply, they left out a lot of interesting scenes (Reread the book and watch the movie, and you'll REALLY notice it-- I can't mention them all here, they'd be spoilers), and it turned out simply... Meh.

I just thought I would share that here, hehe. ^^;; Admittedly, I own all of his mythology books (Kane/PJ/Heroes of Olympus), so... haha. I've also read the PJ series twice now, so I guess I can safely say I like his work. x3

I did a book report on him in 6th grade...first time I ever read his books, and I loved them.
