Since nobody has posted on this yet I figured I would. The new rarities are a representation of just how many of a certain pet are around, but the rarity does NOT equal the value of a pet. The actual value in trading is also determined by supply and demand.Take for example the Onny and Peeturk, these creatures have almost equal rarities. BUT: there are few Onny for trade and many people who want them, so their value is high, while for the Peeturk there are plenty for trade and not so many people who want them, so they're not worth very much at the moment. Values will change due to the new system, since all of a sudden it is apparent just how rare some pets are, but that doesn't mean that some values will plummet while others will all of a sudden skyrocket.Be careful what you trade for so you won't regret trading later, especially while everyone is not used to the new system with rarities yet.I like the fact that rarities are now being displayed. I decided to post this for newbies and people who aren't very used to trading, since I definitely see how these rarities can be abused. You can ping me on here if you want, I know a bit about trading, not everything, but the most obvious rip-offs I can definitely identify 😊 I'll usually reply within 12 hours.

@dionaeaTHanks for posting this! I think it was smart and some people need clarifications ;D

No problem, I thought it was best to put something up ASAP, so less people will end up making big mistakes in trading because the values won't be very clear for a while 😊

Yeah, agree. 😃 Appearently, mu Luvlei, Lucen, is rarer than a Tine. O_o But that doesn't mean that I can trade him for one! XD (Not that I would want too. XD)

XD I get what you mean, I could never get an Onny for my Ecorth either 😊

@dionaeaHere is the formula to calculating rarity:Desire x Age x CostSo since the Tine is very much desired, and it is from 2010, but didn't cost any CC, it's value would be pretty high, but not as so as the Onny, whose value would be even higher, due to the fact it was CC. It's a good formula to working out what creatures are worth what. So trading for a Tine, you need to have creatures which equal or exceed that worth. For example, the Peeturk's value wouldn't be very high, because it is recent and undesired, although it costed CC. I think the Archives should use information based on trades for particular creatures. It doesn't take an idiot to see that Onnies and Peeturks are worth nowhere near each other.

I think that the rarity is also based on their 'rank' - CC, LE or common. A Tine's rarity number is higher (therefore, meaning lower rarity) than other CCs because it was originally an LE.

In conclusion for me.Rarities are very. Very. Confusing. At least for now 😸.To be honest thoughSome of the creatures when compared by raritiesare unusually humorous.

@dionaea Agreed, I saw that the rarity of a ribbert is the same as an onny, but no one would ever trade their onny for a ribbert. The reason the weighted rarity for a ribbert is so high is because nobody like the ribbert, so it wasn't purchased as much. Sometimes the weighted rarity can be a little misleading.Good topic 😊

@dionaeaI got a really really good deal twice. Other people offered though 😃
