The panther, being faster than a human, jumped in front of him. Hawk back up. "Oh crap." He said. Archie began to run after them, but he was too late. The panther lunged at Hawk and pushed him off the roof, he fell directly on the flagpole end, sticking out of the ground. It went clean through his stomach, blood came out of his mouth, as he hit the ground. Archie quickly jumped pushed away the panther, he bit it's neck, killing it. Archie ran quickly to Hawk, he started to try to get him off the flagpole. "No don't- I'll lose too much blood.." Hawk said. Archie wimpered, he knew that he could do nothing. "Listen buddy, I know... I know I've done a lot of killing, and, I regret my mistakes, I wish I never killed anyone... But, I thought that maybe, I might be able to atone for my sins if I could protect Alayei... But well, I didn't see this coming, so, do this last thing for me, okay buddy? He asked. Archie nodded. "Promise me Doku... Promise you'll protect Alayei no matter what. I know they'll be after her, and I can't... Do it myself anymore..." He continued. "It's... So cold..." He said before slowly closing his eyes. A single tear ran down his face as a winter breeze blew through the empty skies.

Alayei noticed Hawk. She raced over to him, became (I forget what thing it is that people have that helps them heal, but she became one of those) and entered his body to help him heal.

Blood stained the dying grass below him, Archie looked down at his owner sadly. "It's too late to save Taka, he has already left us..." Archie spoke to Alayei in her mind as he looked up to the sky.

Alayei came out and became a panther. She ran away.

Archie followed her fast. "It was my master's last request that I protect you, please understand that I can't leave your side."

"Taka knew- I know, the association Watcher worked for will not leave you alone now, I must protect you at all costs, I am at your service." Archie said.

Archie pretended to attack Alayei as he was told. He didn't understand why yet, but he figured there was a good reason.

Alayei became an amoeba - too small to be seen - and floated in a puddle of water.

She then changed back. "See? Can't see me, can't attack me. Now try it again."

Archie understood. "Taka does this to me all the time." He thought.

"Watch." She became a gigantic T-Rex, then quickly changed back. "If I don't feel like shrinking, I can always grow and crush any opponent."

Archie's eyes glowed purple, and Alayei felt a strong pain shooting through her, it was poison. "I can show you many ways that they can get to you without being near you." Archie pointed out.

"Trust me, they have ways of knowing exactly where you are, even if they can't see you." Archie said, making the poison fade away.

"Hey, um, I might just need a little help." A voice said behind Archie. "Wait, I know that voice!" Archie thought, turning around. It was Hawk. He had not a scratch on him. "What? But you-" Archie began to say. "I know, I know, I'm dead. But you see, I've got this problem..."

"Aah, I don't really know how to answer that." Hawk said. "You see, it's a little complicated. Archie should know."

"Oh no..." Archie said. "So the legend WAS true..."

"I guess so. But the fact is, well you see, when I was younger, in Japan, Goku and I where checking out these ruins, when we found this little shrine, there was a shiny black crystal in the middle, Goku here, being an ancient mythical creature and all, knew of a legend and told me about it. He said that the stone was the black dragon's heart, and anyone who took it from the shrine would be cursed to roam the world after death until the end of the world, or until the crystal is placed back where it goes. So I guess, no, I'm not alive." Hawk explained.

"He took it. And now he's a ghost." Archie added.

"Well, it's kinda cool and all, but I can't just pick it up and put it back when I'm ready to leave, because I can't pick up anything at all, I'm a ghost!" Hawk said.

"That IS a problem." Archie said.

"You will? All right, but this isn't gonna be easy, we've got a bunch of assassins after us." Hawk said. "Oh, and the stone's in my pocket, that is, my other pocket, the one on my dead body."

"So I guess you gotta travel to Japan and find those ruins I was at when it happened. I don't know how we'll do that though, I mean, I was lost when I found them." Hawk said.

Archie looked at Hawk. "WHAT? You mean, you lied about knowing where we where?"

"Ahhh, maybe." Hawk replied.
