Honestly, I think it's livening up slightly despite some certain events... I've been around for some time and Egg Cave pulled through some hard times before. I can't say that Egg Cave is very active, but maybe we should have a little faith that it will manage...?

@pebblestar-nightclanWe can only teach by example. You, my dear, are among the most respected in the community and many new users look up to you. It may help dispel the situation at hand and aid in the future interaction of proper etiquette between players. Similar to a part of a board of elders.

@icymuffinYeah 😊 I've noticed, even though I've only been playing for about two months, now... I still manage to get on every day and feed my creatures, though 😸@phoenixfoxThat gives me something to think about, and I don't exactly know why... There's not much to think about in it, is there? What you said could probably be very true, if we pulled together... I think we could attempt it...

@theannualcookieThe quitting rage started in July 2010. Ian didn't really keep up with updates, and it was the peak visiting time for EggCave. v2's release had been mentioned, and everyone waited but it didn't happen for a while.Why does it matter that I was new? We are all new at some point. I was about 8 months... not that new. It took me two days to get the hang of EggCave anyway, psh. :}
icymuffin • 5 January 2012 at 10:33 PM
@whitefallThat's because he was on vacation xDI remember when I was new, but it didn't feel like much since it didn't seem like there were many other users on Egg Cave x]But things change at some point. Things have to change. Some people don't like that change. And so they move on to something else.
whitefall • 5 January 2012 at 10:35 PM
@icymuffinYeah. xD Impatient people, Ian has a life. 😸I remember when i was new too xDPeople change too~~They grow out of this.More people come. Circle of lifee.

I agree with @icymuffin. We are a very small community as opposed to other sites, so any small change good or bad is going to have a big impact. But we've pulled through slow times before. Just have a little faith and stick around and you'll see things start to get better. 😊
pebblestar-nightclan • 5 January 2012 at 10:37 PM
@orderedchaosI can only hope 😊 And, I do... Very much...

@WhitefallI guess xD

Egg Cave only became this way once it became all about the 'worth' of eggs. Since then, people have only cared about what they could get rather than having fun collecting. And the other 09 players get too upset when creatures are re-released because they want their creatures to be rarer. I have my original Tine and wouldn't mind if they were re-released because I think it's awesome that other people get a chance to have their 'dream creatures'. :/
Orderedchaos • 5 January 2012 at 10:57 PM
@chloekins @whitefall Around the time I joined it was 31 eggs, counting the Rhine which only 3 people had. And now we have so many more (148). The Savarab was released only a couple days before I joined.

@orderedchaosOh, thanks for clarifying. 😊To be honest, I think an user's view on the economy depends on how the user is doing his/herself. I mean, if you're rich, then it wouldn't really matter to you as much as an user with a small amount of EC, because you're - rich! 😋 But mostly the EggCave economy revolves around creature trading and CC ^^
icymuffin • 5 January 2012 at 11:41 PM
I remember when I joined, it was about getting the creature to the last stage. That was most important. When I joined, Tim's just opened up so that basically made keepin creatures alive much easier 😃This is why there are a lot of last stage Florn, Foo and whatnot. ^^I think because we're a small community, it's easier to meet others. That's why when someone leaves, the change causes a bigger ripple in the small community like @orderedchaos said.Like when pachi quit, a lot of people got pretty sad 'cuz a lot of users liked how he was so generous~

This isn't a new problem. Egg cave has ALWAYS been about worth, there have always been greedy people, and there always will be. When I first joined the only really rare egg was a Balrog; I wanted one terribly, but people held on to them and I didn't have much to trade. Just like certain creatures today. The thing about Egg Cave, which I feel distinguishes it from other online communities, is that for every troll, there are several kind, friendly people who make it fun and warm and enjoyable. Ignore rudeness, enjoy your friends here. I've never considered quitting, and I credit that to my ability to move past the ugly things I see and look through to the good. I am incredibly proud of Egg Cave users, I always have been. I brag about you guys every chance I get. When I needed a friend, or a hundred, this site and these people were there to reach out, and that's a beautiful thing. The other stuff can bounce off my back.

@pebblestar-nightclan - What you say has plenty of merit, but please don't forget that there are still good old users around and lots of friendly people, too! And people who still know how to make Egg Cave fun. 😊There's no denying that there are some pretty selfish people around, but being 25 years old I see a lot of that as kids being kids, you know? Doesn't make it right, but some people learn better as they get older.Also, I would hope that the loss of a friend and member of our Egg Cave family would draw us closer together rather than divide us. It may sound nerdy of me, but I love you guys. ❤️ Like as my little brothers and sisters. So I hate seeing everyone fighting or treating each other poorly or yelling at Ian for things. I hope we all try to get along better in the future!Anyway, sorry for the small rant. Let us stick together! 😊

@thursdays_doveYeah XD I don't really count it as a rant, considering I count rants as... Negative... things... 😋 By all means, continue your "rant" XD
