Online status idea (update)

Like so lets say, You went on a hiatus, you on your profile preferences you could click on a button that said hiatus. After that you wouldn't need to announce anything, the color of the person next to your username would be a green color

If you quit you would do the same thing except click a "quit" button and your person next to your username would be red

If you are going on vacation you could set a "gone for a while" button and the color of the person would be yellow

Before your status is changed there would be a warning:
Are you SURE you want to change your status?

If a mistake was made you could press a "Reset status" button so it went back to being your regular online/offline

I think that would make things A-LOT easier so there wouldn't be a huge fuss over things about wondering what happened to that person, So they wouldn't have to make an announcement board

Interesting...would you also change the color for when you are on and off line?

Other than that comment, i really think the idea would catch on quickly. 😃

Love this idea! 😊 Especially to go with the Deleting Inactive Users... That way, if you were on hiatus, and you went over the time limit to deleting an account, you wouldn't be deleted because you'd be on hiatus.

But, then again, people might just use that for nothing... Just to preserve accounts :S

No idea, but who knows why people do anything anymore these days? XD Just a precautionary, what with everything that's been going on in Egg Cave lately...

I don't know...it seems a little overcomplicated with all the different colors. Why not just write on your status, "going on hiatus" or "going on vacation" or "leaving eggcave"? I feel like that would accomplish the same thing, and without having to memorize a rainbow of color codes.

I like this idea, on my old forum it did something like this 😊 If it would be too hard for EC admins to change the little blue/grey color thing, they could have a little thing on the side of your profile that says "This User Has Quit" or "This User Is Gone From __, Will Be Back ___
