There are actually several "first" creatures, if you go by what was released into the cave. There were 14 original creatures when Egg Cave first started.

@hay7199 Aerlo, Alkub, Chimera, Crabbert, Drakomo, Flor, Garguaith, Mekii, Salaslyke, Sorien, Sparktail, Terron, and Yeep.
Looks like I miscounted, there were 13 original creatures.

@toy The bunthoff wasn't released until August 14, 2009. So about a month after Egg Cave started.

@toy I wasn't around then either. But I'm using the advanced search function on Eggcavern's cavedex, which lets me sort things by when they were released. So that's where I'm getting my info. 😊
