Late Notifications?

I always get late notifications when someone posts in my topic. Like they post, and then I post in the topic, but then I finally get the notiofication that they posted in the topic I subscriped to.

@crooton1 subscription notifications are time-delayed by a couple of minutes, yes. we have this system set up because doing true live notifications would bog down our database server (because sometimes we're sending out thousands of subscription notifications in a minute). all other notifications, at the current time, are generated live.

have you noticed any "delay" greater than couple of minutes? if you haven't, then there's no bug. if you have, let me know.

@crooton1 are you referring to "Subscription" Notifications? what type of Notification is it?

@Ian yes, I am. I get the ping automatically. I got the '@Ian has posted in Late Notifications?.' a minute+ late.

@crooton1 yup, no bug here. subscription notifications are the only time-delayed notification in the system right now. we have that set up for scalability. if we didn't do this, the subscription feature would bog down the database. 😋
