I noticed you can tell when a normal egg caver is on but you can't tell when a staff member is on. Maybe you can make the shield grey when the staff member is not on, and make it turn gold when they are on?

I think the main reason that you can't tell that the moderators are online is to prevent them from being asked lots of questions/wall comments when they're online.

It was a purposeful icon made so it makes
them look like they are always on, always
watching, ready to pounce! O.o;
