UPDATE: EVERYONE! Stop posting that rarity and value are not the same thing if your reason is because you think I DON'T KNOW! I DO! OK? xPI understand that Weighted Rarity isn't everything. Appeal also matters. But if the Big Three are the three rarest creatures on Egg Cave...The Onny shouldn't be on that list.Because...*drumroll* I have a list of creatures that are rarer than Onnies! (at least, weighted rarity)ArnmnaeBluClousCorphex (but that might change)CorsalCrystar (OMG it's rarer than Doovoos and Macbots (but of course that will change))Doovoo (well duh)EcorthFlarGobblerIgnisKringusMacbot (well duh)PareteorsitePixgogSeirenShamrueSheapSquearth (O.O wow)StorticaiTenalpVampyrYuki (but that might change)...And I had no idea about all that O.OWell, I understand that this might not change anything, but I wanted to get this out in the open.

@cqpkytty If only Eggcave went by this... DXWhenever I use it, people go "Oh, well that's fake and wrong and stupid."
cqpkytty • 3 February 2012 at 10:43 PM
@rawrcookies08I know!I understand that visual appeal and desire is also a big part of it, but Seirens are just as popular (not to mention RARER THAN) as Onnies, and I think someone should be able to trade a Seiren for an Onny.On the other hand...I kinda don't want Seirens to go up in conceived value xPBecause that would make it harder for me to trade for one xD...Or maybe this would bring Onnies down, but keep Seirens the same. xP
cirrus • 3 February 2012 at 10:44 PM
@cqpkyttyThose are soo not rarer than an ONNY!! Thats why I HATE the weighted rarity!!
rawrcookies08 • 3 February 2012 at 10:45 PM
@cqpkytty I'm offering my entire COVE for a first or second stage Tine, which is a WAY over-offer considering that a Tine's rarity is around 22. I have a Raicorn EGG and that should be enough alone! âšī¸@skittlejg They are RARER than Onnies but not as VALUABLE as Onnies. There is a difference.
cirrus • 3 February 2012 at 10:46 PM
I just realized... I am saying the complete opposite of you guys but I thought I was saying the same thing so NEVERMIND!!
rawrcookies08 • 3 February 2012 at 10:47 PM
@skittlejg Haha XD
cqpkytty • 3 February 2012 at 10:49 PM
@skittlejgActually, they ARE rarer than an Onny. Weighted rarity tells the truth. But in trading value, not so much.If there was a way to find all the Onnies, and a way to find all the Seirens...There would be more Onnies than Seirens.Rarity is different than value. Rarity is HOW MANY of that creature there is; value is HOW MUCH the creature is worth.
cirrus • 3 February 2012 at 10:51 PM
@rawrcookieslol XD But now that I think about your kinda right, but over-all I wish that there was just common creatures, and rare creatures, and any rare was worth another.
cqpkytty • 3 February 2012 at 10:52 PM
@skittlejgYEAH!TRADING ORPS FOR ONNIES!!! đđđđđ
taffy789 • 3 February 2012 at 10:54 PM
Acording to weighted rarity,Luvleis are rarer than Tines. đ
cirrus • 3 February 2012 at 10:54 PM
@cqpkyttyYEA!! I have like 6 orps, that couldn't even get me 1 Onny... but really it sould get me like 5 OR 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whitefall • 3 February 2012 at 10:59 PM
Well, it's rarity + popularity = value of the creature. And on here, they use this term loosely as rarity.I understand where you're coming from, but let's look at a real world example. Let's say there's an ancient piece of china. It's rare, heck yes, but the majority of people wouldn't even be interested in it. But they'd probably love to auction for something like.... Micheal Jackson's glove.Hope that made sense xD
crescentfeather • 3 February 2012 at 11:02 PM
@rawrcookies08 10 Raicorn eggs would be worth a Tine. That is, if you can find someone who wants to trade...The thing is, a lot of these Tines and Onnies are rotting in quitters' coves. Therefore, they are out out of circulation, bu they show up on weighted rarity. Plus, most of them are NFT.
evolutary • 3 February 2012 at 11:06 PM
Weighted rarity = how many creatures of a certain species there are, converted to value/rarity.This does not calculate the actual and current value of the creature by people's preference. The weighted rarity depends completely on the amount of creatures there are currently.
whitefall • 3 February 2012 at 11:11 PM
Actually, weighted rarity is just how many eggs there are. ^^Converted to a number, somehow. ^^RARITY: how rare it isVALUE: an egg's worthValue is basically rarity + popularityTrading is based off of value...So an Onny and Ribbert don't have the same rarity. For example~Textbook vs PizzaSame price~But different value~
cqpkytty • 3 February 2012 at 11:13 PM
@whitefall@crescentfeather@evolutaryI understand that rarity is not the same as value.
crescentfeather • 3 February 2012 at 11:53 PM
@cqpkytty Seiren for Onny, much?
cqpkytty • 3 February 2012 at 11:57 PM
@crescentfeatherI was imagining what would happen if rarity WAS the same as value.
thursdays_dove • 4 February 2012 at 2:31 AM
Rarity and value are not synonymous. The Onny is simply more "valuable" than the other creatures of the same rarity because the demand for them is higher. At least that's how I feel.
cqpkytty • 4 February 2012 at 11:51 AM
@thursdays_doveI understand that rarity and value are not the same.

Onnies are cute, but when I got one I got tired of it and I ended up trading it. X3 I do miss it now, not much, but you know.I have my sweet little Doovoo now, and in my opinion, he's even cuter than any Onny.I'm perfectly happy with my creatures. I pretty much have my dream cove; Gobbler hatchling, Arnmnae hatchling, guinstar, some mos, a lot of cc, my old common creatures that I love and one creature from the Rare Trio (Macbot, Onny, or Doovoo). All I need is basically a Chiye, a Pixgog, and a Berr, and my cove will be 100% perfect. But Im hesitant to go on a search for those, becasue I'd have to trade half my cove to get them, then trade for all that back, and the creatures leftover would have no emotional value to me whatsoever.I go by names too; Not just a good name, but a beautiful name, or a name that catches my eye. That's why instead of having names like Toaster, or Internet, or Nyan; I have beautiful names like Gloria, Wolfgang, Confetti, Believer, things along that line, and I have real human names, like Danielle, Carlos, Melissa, et cetera. I also like making up my own names, such as Bellina (Bell-ee-nah), Lacyndra (La-sin-druh), and Proxs (Procks). They're absolutely beautiful to me, AND they normally aren't already taken.I don't really go by value or rarity, I go by new creatures that catch my eye. Because most of the old and rare creatures I have now were brand new when I got them.
