The gifteds (dystopian RP)

PRIVATE ROLE PLAY (for now)
This is a dystopian role play, cuz I feel like it xD

The government, has been testing out a new type of biological weapon. An insider from the research facility steals the very first sample of the weapon and releases it into the air. The weapon kills many people, burning their skin and their internal organs in a matter of seconds. Not everybody dies, and some of the survivors have acquired some interesting skills?

What's left of the population has developed a strong dislike for those with "gifts" and the government has gone into a frenzy, trying to round up these 'Gifted's to salvage what's left of their highly expensive and sensitive operation.


You can either be a 'Gifted' or a normal human that is part of either the government or the general populace.

'Gifted's have heightened abilities such as:
- Increased sense of sight, hearing, smell,
- Increased speed, strength and healing ability
- Occasionally we have people who can listen in on the thoughts of others. (Mental abilities)

Looks: Pixle has dark and short black-brown hair with gold-blonde streaks running through it, she stands at 5'2" and has pale skin, covered in scars and scratches

Ok gonna start.

Viola peeked out the window of her one room apartment. Her stepdad lay slumped on the only piece of furnishing in the room. A ratty couch that she and her stepdad found in an abandoned house. Well, not exactly abandoned. More like the owners of the house had died a few years ago. It was a rather small couch that her stepdad decided could fit into their rundown minivan. Together, they not only raided the house of it 's lone sofa but also the necessities like food and emergency equipent. She even found a safe box hidden in the master bedroom.

At the time, Viola was rather hesitant to steal, but the ends justified the means and ever since she and her stepdad got kicked out of their town house they had to make do with whatever they found.

Pixle was exhausted, running was hard, keeping her cool with the earth was becoming harder, as she barreled through the grove, branches seemingly moved out of the way on will as she brushed passed them, the green leaves held tight to their origin and delivered a sting every time Xavier was whacked in the face or gut or sometimes the rear end.
'Hold still! and STOP MESSING WITH THE PLANTS!' he snapped, raising his gun again and firing three rounds at pixel, he had caught the girl trying to scavenge a bit of his food and medical supplies after he had come back from searching the surrounding area. His hair was hanging in his face slightly as he tripped on a root that shoved itself out of the ground. Xavier hit the dirt with a soft thud, lettingn his "prey" escape.
Pixle just kept running, eyes wide and locked straight ahead.

@inkstep I didnt know she could control plants, could you perhaps tone it down a little? these are "gifts" not magical powers. ^^" They gotta be around equalish xD
ANNYHOO

Digging around for a pencil Viola scribbled a hasty note one the wall."I'm going out to get some supplies. Don't worry, won't be too long. Vi."
This wasn't even their apartment and no one had come for them ever since they "moved in" 6 weeks ago so she figured she'd do whatever she liked with it.
Closing the door quietly behind her she ran into a blond boy. Viola jumped then got a whiff of his scent. He didn't seem threatening, he smelled almost... curious.

"What do you want kid?" she let out, her tone of voice a little harsher than she meant it to be.
The boy recoiled a little before stepping forward. "I'm no kid." he replied, eyes flashing. "I'm 13 and I was wondering what were you doing in that apartment over there."

srry, I made it soun like she did, it's kinda like what I call the greenery trick, basically she knows the land so well that while she's ducking and bending branches by their tips so easily, Xavier's being an absolute failure in not paying attention, slamming into the most obvious things, and pretty much just frailing ar life. ugh I feel so slow in posting these =(

Pixle broke out into a part of the broken city, there was no one around, she had a chance. Bolting across the empty road, Pixle ran behind an abandoned car and skid under it, breathing quickly and watching the grove she had just thrown herself out of, she could feel the soft vibration as Xavier's feet hit the pavement as he sprawled into the empty area.
"Come out come out wherever you are..." he muttered lowly, What he had been told was to hunt them and kill them, which was easy, it seemed to only be affecting those younger than him, he sighed 'Soooo alone...' he muttered, yawning a bit 'I know you're out there, freak, just come out and end your misery now why don't ya?' he asked the air, addressing pixel but not directly.
Holding her breath, Pixle closed her eyes, shaking slightly 'Don't move' her head screamed as she listened to her surroundings, hoping he couldn't see her under the low car.

Viola racked her brains for something to say. "We live there." was what she could come up with in the end.
The boy opened his mouth to say something but she cut him off. "Look, me and my stepdad have had a tough life and we don't need little nuisances like you rifling through our business." And with that she sidestepped him and headed down the corridor.

Heading towards the car she suddenly caught a scent that blew her way. Fear. She walked faster, the scent growing stronger with every step. As she reached the car door she smelled a different scent, anger and fustration. Just as she was about to unlock the minivan she heard a slight scraping noise. Bending down she peered underneath the car only to come face to face with a dirty, scratched-up girl, who was shaking terribly.

"Who are you and what are you doing under my car?"

Pixle jumped a bit, hitting her head on the bottom of the car 'Ow...' she gasped under her breath as she crawled out from her hiding spot, slightly nervous 'Nothing..I was..I mean..Im...' she swallowed the knot in her throat and nodded 'I was just hiding..I'm...er..I..Sorry...' she said shyly, still shaking slightly in her fear 'Someone's tryign to kill me..and I..I just thought I could hide...I didn't figure it was your car..I..it looked abandoned there so..sorry...' she muttered, backing up a bit further.(and of course he comes in XD)
'Found ya' Xavier chuckled under his breath, aiming his gun for Pixle's neck, easily able to sever her brain stem and rid the new world of another freak, he pulled the trigger and was once more amazed at what he saw her do.
Pixle looked up the second Xavier cocked and fired, she turned and held her arm up, the bullet buried itself in her forearm and it took almost everything she had in her not to scream.
'stupid reflexes' he muttered under his breath, staying hidden in the grove.

Viola stared at the stammering girl emerging from under her minivan and sighed. Just before she could reply she heard a gunshot and watched in disbelief as the girl held up her arm a split second before the bullet hit her neck

Pille cringned a bit, her head lowered as she watched the grove, knowing he was out there, her arm hurt and was already soaking itself with blood 'he's just out to kill people like me..' she murmured, pulling up her hood and keeping her eyes on the thick grove of trees.
Xavier swallowed tightly, his eyes wide, how had she done it? he thought to himself, the weak and toothpick-built 'plant freak' had stopped the bullet from tearing through her head, just by letting it hit her arm instead! 'Freak' he muttered to himself as he continued to watch her from the safety of the trees

Viola was about to speak when she caught the scent of someone. The same person she smelled when she was walking to her minivan. It wasn't the girl, her scent was sharp citrus sting gone wrong, she smelt of pain and fear. It was someone else. The person that shot the girl perhaps? Viola lifted her head to the wind and sniffed again. Yep, she definitely smelled someone else. Woody, with a slight acid tinge. He was mad.

Viola stepped forward and offered the poor girl a hand. "Look, you're hurt, come with me and I can perhaps stop you from bleeding to death."

Pixle nodded slightly, keeping her eyes on the forest, there was something wrong, he wasn't comming to attack them, She had known Xavier as the bomb hit and everything went wrong, after they had escaped eachother they became enemies, usually he would jump in and kill them both, but not this time.
Xavier watched the two, the acrid scent of the woods around him almost too unbearable as he watched, his eyes locking on Viola, he'd have to get past her, but she was worse than a dog, he knew she could smell him, she seemed to be enhanced more than pixle in a way.

Just as Viola was about to turn around she caught the scent of curiosity again. Turning around slowly she came face to face with the blond boy again. Viola sighed, "Dude, you gotta stop following me around. What I do is none of your business."

The boy smirked, "So from boy, to dude. I guess I'm moving up the respect ladder." He paused before offering up his hand. "I'm Ben by the way."

Viola rolled her eyes, "Okay, Ben," stressing the 'Ben' part, "what do you want so that you'll leave us alone?"

Ben shrugged, "I just wanted to know who our new neighbours were. Dad said that it was most likely a group of druggies who saw the empty apartment as a place to stay and smoke..." he trailed off before his eyes settled on the girl with the bleeding arm.

Viola noticed his attention shifted by his scent's increased spike in curiosity, the strong piney scent playing with her nose.

"Who is she?" Ben asked, his eyes not leaving the girl.

Pixle stayed silent, unwrapping her mouth a bit, just down to her neck 'I'm pixle...' she said softly, she looked up at te boy but her eyes shifted as the bushes rustled a bit, she swallowed her fear and nodded slightly, lowering her head again as she re-wrapped her mouth, her dull eyes watching the cracked asphalt
Xavier growled slightly, he pulled up his hood, looking like a bear again, his eyes glinted as he backed up, aiming his gun again, if he could aim right, he could take out the two and the boy. 'one shot' he hissed to himself 'aimed right will blow through each one of their heads' he whispered, cocking his gun and watching their movements, waiting.
Pixle looked back at the bushes, a bit unsettled as she listened to everything around her at once.

"I'm pixle" the girl replied shyly. Ben smiled and was about to introduce himself when Viola jumped.

"Look, now is not the time for introductions, this girl's life is in danger, I don't know why, but I don't want her dying on me so you two duck down. I'll investigate."

Ben was about to reply with a smart comeback when Viola shot him a look. Ben stepped back, recognizing that look immediately. 'Don't try to be funny.' It had said.

He nodded curtly, still not liking being ordered around and held his hand out for the bleeding girl- Pixle or whatever her name was, to take.

Viola walked out from behind the minivan and took a deep breath. "Look," she began, shouting at the top of her lungs.

"I don't know who you are or why the hell you are trying to shoot that girl, but if you would please stop trying to murder her or injure us in the process I'd really appreciate it." once she had finished her throat stung a little but she got some satisfaction from the fact that the shooter's scent had changed.

Hesitation.

@stellalunagirl it's part of her outfit, she wears the hood and her face/neck are wrapped up in a gauy- like material

Pixle lowered her head and just followed the boy, she shuddered slightly and looked back at the woods. there were two reasons he was trying to catch her, that she knew of, one was she had a magnet, important for a compas, but it was the only one they could find, every other one had been messed up by the accident. the othher was she was different, but everyone could've known that by looking at the both of them.
Xavier struggled for a moment, watching the girl, he stepped out of the shadows slightly, leaning on his gun as he watched, his dark hair hung in his face and the bear skin was hanging on his shoulders.
He just watched, his eyes glinted slightly as he shrugged
'Give it over Pixle' he rasped, watching her closely
Pixle froze up, her hands balled into fists as she took a step back.
'You've got time, maybe...' he muttered, puhing off his gun and walking back into the woods. both of them having more than too many thoughts on their minds

The shooter's scent was growing faint and so she took one last whiff, commiting that scent to memory, in case that psycho ever tried to come back. Focussing her attention on the two kids who were trudging back to her apartment she jogged to catch up with them.

(SORRY SO SLOW, WAS BUSY WITH STUFF)

Pixle looked back as Viola caught up, she nodded slightly and looked back at the ground as she followed Ben, her hood was up, shading most of her face, what wasn't shaded was wrapped in the material most of her outfit was made of, it wasn't so easy to hide, but most of the time it offered protection

Ben stopped as they reached the front of Viola's apartment. Viola sighed and pushed pass him, reaching in through the window beside the door and unlocking it from the inside.

The bleeding girl just stared at Viola in surprise and Viola shrugged. "We don't really have a key."

Opening the door from the outside now she stepped in and motioned for the two to do the same.

Pixle nodded and followed after her, her mind racing, her arm had already crusted with blood, the wound had clogged itself but still stung badly.
'seems normal enough, no one really has to care about break ins and muggings anymore, right? I mean...just look around...' she said thoughtfully to herself, watching around as she stepped inside

Viola made the shushing motion with her fingers to her lips then gestured to her sleeping stepdad. Making her way over to the back of the room where a large suitcase sat she unzipped it as quietly as she could and rummaged around until she found her first aid kit.

Ben studied the apartment, sparsely furnished. VERY sparsely furnished. Only a couch and a small sleeping bag sat in the middle of the room.

Viola came back with the supplies and motioned for the girl to come over. "I need to clean the wound," she explained, "and bandage it, the rest we will have to leave up to a doctor.." she trailed off for a moment before shaking herself. "we will have to let a proper doctor take out the bullet." she finished, frowning a little.

Viola grimaced at the waves of nervousness that she smelled rolling off the girl. "I'm Viola by the way." she said taking the bleeding girl's hands and examining the wound. "and its no problem, sad enough as it is, I do this quite a lot."

Viola looked up at Pixle for a moment, studying her face and her scent. She smelled curious, just like Ben who was wandering around her apartment. But there was something else as well.. she caught the scent of an underlying tone of worry.

Resisting the urge to laugh out loud she shook her head and smiled. "He works at night, and so his night is our day. I just let him sleep."
