How come only half the pings work?

Out of the last ten pings I've gotten, only 6 of 'em have notified me o_O

Maybe it has happened to me before, but it was only prevalent for me today. Who knows. o___e

One of the reasons some pings don't work is that if a user edits their post to add in pings. Editing and adding in pings doesn't work because if that user edits their post numerous times, the pings in that post with be pinged that many times.

I'm not sure if that's your problem, though, I don't receive all of my pings either.

@whispers Some people edit their posts to add pings, and when you edit your post to add them the pings that you add won't work.
And, only the first 5 people you ping get pinged. The others don't. c:

I did not get pings on one whole day, and if I ever got pinged it always showed up to the same topic! But that was only one day
