I don't know if this has been suggested? ~ Guilds/clubs/factions/etc...

I know Egg Cave may or may not have a long way to go for this to even think about developing and users could be against the idea because so many sites like this have this feature. Everyone likes originality as well. I personally believe that a lot of people on here have similar interests. For instance, The Hunger Games, roleplaying, books, anime, music, films, or trading/adopting creatures, etc.

Anyhow, in a way, I think it would be neat to implement guilds. Or factions. Or whatever you would like to call them. And if guilds are ever created, there probably should be a guild forum so people can advertise and congregate together for common interests, hooray...and to show people how cool it is to be close knit or whatever you want your guild to do. Like take over the world.

They could have the option of being private or public, relevant to Egg Cave, fandoms, whatever as long as it complies with the sites rules and terms of service.

A possibly idea is to have an account age limit as to who can create guilds. Like 1 year + or something. It could cost EC to make a guild to regulate that people don't create them willy nilly.

Or just let them create them willy nilly.

There is so much more. Idk? Is this a good idea?

I love the idea. That's just because I really want to start a roleplay, but not sure about starting in a thread as I've always roleplayed in guilds.

I think it'd be awesome too if we could have a couple pages, perhaps on our pets look ups? That we could use for 'character pages' or other guild stuff.

I love this idea. But this is because i've been in guilds on other sites and feel they are wonderful.


I'd also love to be in a guild with people around my age, as much as I love everyone, sometimes you just want people to relate to. I vote yes. 😊 Though it would be a lot of work for the site creators, but I think it would make a lot of people happy.

Yeah, I thought so too. It's not like creating the option of creating/joining a guild forces a user to actually take part in it.

On other adoptable sites, I have been in guilds and clans and it makes it a lot more fun.

Plus you makes TONS of friends. And you talk about a lot of nonsense. xD

I'm on Neopets, which is similar to this site. This site definitely has better forums though!

But hte guild aspect? Love it.

No one HAS to be in a guild. It'd be nice to have the option, but as I am not good with computers, I can't imagine how much work it would be to set up.

Funny thing is, I was thinking about making a topic to suggest this earlier today.

I am sure Ian could do it or whoever runs that aspect of the site. I am sure it'd take a lot of refining and work and support from users to work out any bugs but I am quite sure this /could/ work! (:

It'd have to be a roleplaying guild about a roleplay I'm considering starting on the roleplay thread. =D

If we were allowed to have a limit or two or three guilds, I'd want to join an anime guild and an 18+ or 16+ guild. 😊

I seriously searched through the suggestions forum to see if this was even suggested and I really couldn't find one forum so I thought it was time. Plus, if Egg Cave can get a billion views, then I think it's at least popular enough to think about guilds. At least just /think/ about them. I am sure how many you could join coupled with age regulations could be implemented. Or applications for private guilds unless that idea would be left up to the owner(s) of the guild to create.

It would be up to Ian to make the rules on creating them strict or carefree.

I kind of think that I would want like at least 5 months + to be able to create a guild or at least a fee. It just means you are serious and not doing it to just do it.

But I could be persuaded to have no regulations, but I am sure Egg Cave would get clogged with meaningless guilds. Merp.

@pendulum, I vote for a fee. Just because, while I am a newer user, I am VERY serious about guilds. I run a very successful one on my other site with roleplaying and have kept it going for a year, and my other two guilds for over three. =D

But I wouldn't mind waiting a couple more months either. Besides, if it does happen, it won't be before I reach a decent account age, and if it did, I wouldn't want to make one right away as it'd be swamped with people making them. I'd rather wait until the novelty wore off.

That's true. And waiting for the novelty to wear off would be a good idea. I am sure people would go crazy the day that creating guilds would be released.

All I know is that there would have to be a few restrictions.
It's easier to keep things structured. (:

@pendulum This sounds like a good idea. I'd love to belong to a roleplay guild, or something like that. It would also be a good way to organize all the unofficial clubs. I know I've seen a couple, but Mo Club is the only one I can think of right now. ^^;

Preferably, we'd be able to belong to more than one guild at a time?

Yes, it would be great! People create clubs all the time centralized around creatures. Like you mentioned, the Mo Club.

I think it would be neat to belong to more than one guild/club, but there'd have to be a limit, I am sure.

It'd be wonderful to have a place to congregate with those who share the same interests. I have a guild on another site, and I really enjoy the closeness of the whole thing.
Also, the fee and account age are a nice additions~ ^^ They would keep most non-serious people from just making guilds on a whim. (:

I agree with the fee and restrictions. On many other sites, non serious people make guilds all the time and it annoys me.

I think a limit of 3-5 guilds would be ideal. =D

A roleplay guild would make my life.

Yes, I miss that feeling. And when guilds create challenges and contests or events...it makes it worthwhile to come back on. It almost guarantees people being more active if they belong to that type of guild.
