I'm going to try build up a holiday reading list to keep me occupied. Also want to challenge my reading abilities. Please don't suggest stuff like Twilight (no vamps please) or the hunger games (read that) or Harry potter (i'll read it eventually) or warriors (gave up) I'd like to read books not really well known by a lot of people, because they can somtimes be the best I've read. πI'm 15 so books for people around my age, maybe older. I'd like to give a try at reading some literary classics so feel free to suggest those as well?

@stellalunagirl, Have you ever read City of Bones?Or The Great Gatsby?The first one's a YA novel, the second a classic, they're both pretty good π
silver_winged • 28 March 2012 at 12:27 AM
@stellalunagirlIf you're looking for something emotionally mature, try A Prayer for Owen Meany. It's religiously themed, and extremely well written. You'll cry both from laughter and sadness. It's my favorite book. I read it when I was 15, so you'll probably be able to appreciate it too.
stellalunagirl • 28 March 2012 at 12:34 AM

stellalunagirl • 28 March 2012 at 12:38 AM
@linpugOoh! Cool I'll look it up π
blackrose_chan • 28 March 2012 at 12:38 AM
@stellalunagirlread One flew over the Cuckoo's nest π a lot of people love that story and I'm not just talking about adults~ Red Dragon is like Law & Order or something like that.Lord of the Flies is about kids stuck on an Island trying to surviveand lastly Everything Illuminated is about a jewish man on a quest to find the woman who saved his grandfather(I loved the movie~)each one has a movie to it as well πΈ so if you liked the book maybe go on TV and hunt down the movie or if you have Netflix maybe watch one on there.however Lord of the Flies has the worst movie part so don't watch that movie version!

amunoko • 28 March 2012 at 5:16 AM
@stellalunagirlThe Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor.It's a twist on Alice in Wonderland that makes Alice a princess escaping to earth and the Mad Hatter a cool body gaurd with cool weapons. OH and the names are redone.I second someone's motion for The Great Gatsby.And if you wand hard core fantasy try The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K Jemisin or and book in the triligy in any order all can be stand alone novels.

I personally for a young adult author, love Sarah Dessen. So anything by her. I'm 18, yet still enjoy her books, very much so. I can't suggest a specific book of hers, because you should read all of them. XD Jodi Picoult is pretty amazing, too. The Eragon series is pretty decent. Inkheart is awesome. Chronicles of Narnia
asi • 28 March 2012 at 5:43 AM
@Stellaluna Ooh, I love Agatha Christie *_*The one @James-bond suggested, that's one's BRILLIANT. Really scary. People trapped on an island, and one of them's the murderer and you don't know who O_OMaximum Ride, it's a series I've stopped reading because like Inkheart, my rating for the whole series will be based on what couples end up together XDTamora Pierce is good; well, some of the series I liked, whereas others I just didn't. I liked the Song of the Lioness quartet, the Tricksters books (2), and Beka Cooper, but the others, not so much.The Looking Glass Wars!!!! That one's amazing! Do it! You'll never see Alice In Wonderland the same way again π
naleap • 28 March 2012 at 5:43 AM
@stellalunagirlByes! π@april__I should try Inkheart ;D The movie is awesome, i spose the book is, too π
