~Grammar and Story Tips for New Roleplayers [Error: You broke the world with bad spelling.]~

I made this for those who have trouble with grammar and story in roleplays. I know how hard it can be for some to be understood or tolerated when they don't know proper grammar. So here's a few tips!



- A new paragraph begins every time a new person speaks or a new topic is discussed.

- Proof read posts to make sure there are no mistakes.

- Try not to put too many commas. But don't use none at all either, it should be somewhere in between.

-Punctuate your sentences! A period "." ends a sentence while a comma "," means that the sentence continues. An Exclamation point "!" means that someone is yelling or, well, exclaiming something. Example: Perry had just eaten lunch, a pickle and cheese sandwich. "Yum!" He said.

-Details are never bad (unless there are too many). Try to explain your characters tone of voice when speaking and explain the atmosphere of the area when you enter or begin in a new place.

-Make sure your words are spaced out. Billywentovertothesnackstand is not easy to read.

-Make sure people know who's speaking and who's being spoken to. Example: Mia looked over at Paul. "It's not rocket science." She said.

-Always wrap things that people are saying in parenthesis " as it makes it easy to know that someone is speaking.

~Other Tips~

-Your and you're, where and were, their and they're get mixed up easily, let me explain the meanings.

~You're is an abbreviation for "you are" while your is used for something like "Your pants are on fire!".

~Where means that something or someone is in: "The place where all is crazy." while were is used for something like "There were many problems with carl's grammar."

~They're is an abbreviation for "they are" while their is used for something like "They had a treehouse all their own.".

-Capitalization is vital. Names of places or people and the first word in a sentence should AWAYS be capitalized.

The things that annoy me most are people misusing "Your" and "You're", and not using capital letters or fullstops properly ._.

There's this RPer I know who must be at least 13 and doesn't capitalize. It was so annoying at first.

I see this RPer who you probably know who they are who does this:

Bob looked out his window and said "look at the birds outside they look so nise dont u think"and then bill said"yeah those birds are nise lets go show bobby"so they went to bobbys hous and he was like"your eyes are mesed up cuz thowse birds r ugly u r dum"

It's freaking easier to actually type right. ._.

I sometimes have this problem, where my keyboard starts to spazz and when caps lock isn't even on [Or so my keyboard says...], it makes everything pop up in caps. And when it says it is on, it pops up in lower.

And sometimes my caps lock just does work.

Like:

"You're kidding, right?" SHe asked, with a slight tone of annoyance.

WHY, CAPS LOCK, WHHHYYYYYY!?

I had to laugh at your post. I didnt understand a word you were saying all. I understood was married and the word ever being spelled wrong. I agree some people do need to be corrected on they're grammar. I think thats just them not using common sense and being to dum to have the time to just type the right way and I wanted to try one so I did hehe ^.^

@takatheeducatedkid - I hate when people don't use 'to' and instead put 'too' for everything.

Example: They went too the market too buy some food.

:/ *sigh*
