Great, Kenneth saw me cry, just great. Hazel felt so embarrassed so she sat at an empty table. She didn't feel like talking with anyone, not even Vex. hazel stabs the celery. "Is everyone here? If yes, I'll show you your coaches!" the master called. Hazel hopped the coach will not be so mean and strict. "Well everyone's here. Time to show the coaches." the master said.

Kenneth walked over to Hazel secretly. "Don't be embarassed. I know what that feels like." he said as they both ignored the master, who was announcing the coaches. Then he patted her back and started to eat a few helpings of food. "Oh, don't eat a lot of food because you're going to be slow." he said as he finished his food.

"Thanks Kenneth, it's just that I'm not that well" Hazel replied. "The coach for team Perfela is...Ron." The master called. When Ron came put, he looked like a drunk man, single. Hazel wasn't that happy when she saw the master. Ron came and sat down with Vex. He probably liked Vex better than her because Vex was much more stronger.

Kenneth looked at what Hazel was looking at. Then his eyes widened. "Oh my-" was all he said and started to bury himself in his arms and started screaming, "IT CAN'T BE!!! IT CAN'T BE!!!" only loud enough for Hazel to hear. Then Vex pointed to them and Coach Ron raised his eyebrows at them. Hazel raised her eyebrows and said, "What's wrong?" as Kenneth looked at Hazel. "Hazel, don't tell anyone, not even Vex, but Ron is my dad." Kenneth said.

"What, you---you're dad? Did he ever tell you?" Hazel asked. Hazel was confused. How could that be? Anyways, if Kenneth was going to grow like his dad, Hazel was not planning to like him very much. Hazel exchanged looks with Ron and Kenneth, they looked nothing alike.

Kenneth looked at Hazel and said, "He's my former dad. But he abandoned me when I was 5 years old and my mom had to take care of me herself. And believe me I never want to be like him. Ever." he said, glaring at his former dad and then looking straight into Hazel's eyes. "Then-" was all Kenneth could say before looking at a man. "Is that yours or Vex's dad?" he said, looking at the man.

Hazel was speechless, great, Hazel thought, no way we're going to win! She started stabbing her carrots. "That's about it! May the war begin" the master called. "Okay, finish up lunch. We're going to start to train."Ron said.

As the team mentors were announced, Vex sighed. Ron, the town drunk had been assigned to team Perferla. 'That's just lovley,' Vex sighed. Their hope of winning had just faded from none to negitive none. Grey eyes glittering, Vex glanced to the sky. A young bird beat its wings and streaked across the sky. Wishing he was free, Vex closely studied the flying animal.

All three finished, so they entered the training room. It was enormous! "Okay, first, you have to go to the bow and arrow section Hazel. Next, Vex, you go to the knifes section. Kenneth, you go to the spears center." Ron said. Right after, Ron fell down and started sleeping. Ron was too drunk too guide us, so we tried it ourselves.

Striding over to the small table, Vex found himself in the midst of knives. Blades of all shapes and sizes lined the table. Vex selected a throwing knife with a silver handle. He proceded to the target range. With a flick of his wrist, the knife lodged in the eye of the dummy.

the three days past quickly. Soon it was the war, but before the war, Hazel met a few people. Like Thorn, he was powerful. He could kill someone with one pinch! Even though he seemed mean, he was amazingly gentle at the same time.
