Don't worry about it. Seriously. They can't even predict the weather right, lol!Besides the Mayan calender didn't count in Lear years as they weren't 'invented' yet. Without the extra day every four years, it should be 2013, meaning the world should have already ended.

The guy who made the calendars could have simply stopped making them, I mean, seriously, I doubt the dude knew the end of the world was on a specific day and year. -_-

Don't be scared. Just a solstice. It was the day their calendar ended, and because it couldn't go on forever they ended it on the last day of their year.

@cotton EXACTLY. Nothing to worry about. Another thing is that (and I don't want to start a riot or nothin' xD) Jesus said the end of the world would come like a thief in the night, in other words, you wont expect it. So why would someone be able to predict it?

So, Julius Caesar invented the leap year after the Mayans created their calender, and since then there have been several hundred leap days in order to retain the integrity of the 12 month system. The Mayans, of course, had no leap years, and therefore did not factor them in when making their calender. By the Mayan count, excluding leap days, the world should have ended sometime last year. That being said, this is all just a bunch of media shenanigans anyways. The Mayan calender ended; not the world. Everybody calm down.

@Balletninja That does make sense... December 21st is the Winter Solstice...And it would also be the day before my oldest girl cousin turns 18. Well, I'd hate that. X'DI don't believe in this world ending crap. Besides, if it was December 21st in one place, it would still be the 20th or even the 22nd somewhere else.So what people are trying to tell us is that the world slowly gets eaten when it becomes the 21st. Really, it's ridiculous.In the 2012 movie, they didn't even all die! They just... Lost the Earth. There's a whole universe out there. We could just... Deciding a random date for the world to end is stupid. I actually had a conversation with someone discussing how people say the world will end because of "science." I said its stupid science. And it is stupid science.

@Meixiaotian There is a time and a place for sceince, you know what I mean? 😋 Because I hate how whenever someone asks a question, you get this big, scientific answer, as if they know how the universe works. This would be one of those situations.Seriously guys, the Mayans can't predict the future any more than we can (and we in fact can't predict the future, in most cases). But I WILL tell you this for sure; We will all wake on the morning of the 22nd, and we'll all be alive.

@dreamer Exactly! And just some shift/alignment won't mean the world will end! Once I kept hearing, the world will end this year! And then the same thing the next year. I mean, seriously, the world won't end because of some paranoid people who just seem to love saying the world will end now.
