We, as eggcavers, students, moms & dads, sisters, brothers, and most importantly humans need to change. I have noticed, everywhere people are always living in the past, never thinking about what lies at the end of the tunnel. We are pointing out differences instead of accepting them and coming together. We dream up wonderful dreams, but don't put them into action. So what? What do we do? We change. Think differently about your day, instead of how it sucked, how you could improve it. Even bigger like a week, year, then life.

We can start little and then grow. It will work if we all do it together. We can start here, on this site.

I don't want there to be a "tried" or "failed". I want there to be a we "Did". This place used to be a haven for many users. We constantly look back on the past, but I want to look foward and make it even better than the past. But I need everyone's help. I know I have complained as well, but we can change our ways into more optimistic feelings to benefit the future.

If you think this won't work then do it. Give it your best shot and see if it works, the worst thing could that could happen is that it doesn't. But with everyone in on this, we can change eggcave into an even more spectacular website.

@balletninja

I suppose if people just tried nowadays, they could do as you are thinking.

My guess is that if people give up on it, it's because they have no self-confidence or either haven't tried hard enough.

I agree completely with what you're saying. I'm trying, prematurely, to get everything right for college and then doing what I want with my life after that.

I have a goal of everything I'd like to do in my life in a short list. It is written on my profile, actually. I've already started writing series so that they can be published around the time when I'm ready for college.

Another thing I was thinking is "How hard will college be?" I thought school is hard, so college is going to be hard, but that fits all with what you're talking about here.

This seems like it might be off-topic, but it also seems like it fits with what you're trying to point out.

@balletninja I have to go to college. XD Going to be a veterinarian, and while I'm at it I'll study theatrical arts, etc. etc. *has a busy life ahead*

So, what are we gonna start with to change Egg Cave? 😸

I think I love you for this

You basically put my way of living onto paper. "Don't dwell on the past. You can't change it, no matter how bad. Work towards the future."

And, I have Juvenal Arthritis, stomach spasms, OCD, PTSD, G- You get the idea. You know what?
Screw. That.
I'm not going to let my problems rule my life
I'm going to own a farm
Go to college
Become a vet
Have a family

I always try to be optimistic. I always have a fire in my belly, no matter how small a task is.
Because, if we let life get boring, no one is going to want to live it.

"Time does not change us, it unfolds us."

Kinda relevant... but I guess not really... :I

I think what we as humans lack is hope.
That's it.
Hope that we can actually fufill our dreams and actually create a better future. We'd think that there is no "perfect world." We'd all say that things just plainly suck but we don't really chase after what we think the world should be like because we think that as one person, "How could you possibily change the world? One person alone can't do it..."
And then, there are those with the conviction but lack the plan of how to get there.

{But really, I do think that the nostalgia part of remembering isn't all that bad sometimes. It reminds us of our goals and why we're fighting in the first place.
Just let me float in this bubble a little while and have a little bit of faith that there was at least once a happiness for me D:}

//Hands cookie//

Hope isn't something we lack
It's something we're losing
Hope is what we're born with
And that we slowly lose as we grow older, because "reality" comes hitting us. Hard.
"Reality" tells us, it's irrational to want to be a cowboy and ride horses all day; when you have bills to pay. So, people drop their dreams to go with a more practical life.

That's why a child is so innocent. They have their own hopes, their own dreams that haven't been crushed yet.

When I have kids, whatever their dream is, I'm supporting it. I've //always// wanted to be a vet; since I was 4, I remember saying it. And here I am, 12 years later, growing that dream.

To me, dreams are seeds. Hope is something other people feed to your "Seeds" so that it grows; not constantly telling you your dreams are wrong. And when people stop giving your seeds hope, they wither and die.

*reads*
*glomphug* I luff youuuuu ;A;
{Wait... then what happens if you have no more dreams? What would that make you?}

This conversation totally makes me think of these though: http://fav.me/d4vogxr & http://fav.me/d4v7014

Don't it hurt so much when someone tells you "You're hopeless. Just give it up already"? I mean, can't we just hold on to a dream? Sure, it may be not so realistic, but what gives anyone the right to force the thought into that reality is better?
But I digress...

I find this topic completely weird because this is exactly what came up in an arguement just not too long ago ;A;

No more dreams - Just a hallow shell, basically ;3;
Like
Those people you see walking around, just all dull and sad and depressed, not caring

When I'm with littler kids, I encourage their dreams. And when I hear someone scold them for "Being a baby" IE - older kids, I let them know it's fine to dream. Wither or not they end up a space captain, is no one but their concerns. And I give death glares to the other child xD

I totally agree with you two.
You should let go of the past and look forward to the future and never lose hope. It's the one thing that keeps a person going in the toughest of times. However, although we should let go of the past, I do still think that the past should be remembered and learnt from to have a better future. Every past experience counts may it be good or bad.
