I can see where you're going here, but, personally, I don't really mind them, well, considering that most of the people I do quizzes with usually just post them on my wall, not the forums - in fact, I've only ever once posted my quiz on the forums. For me, it's just a way to have some fun trivia with some of my friends - nothing more, really.

I don't mind a good debate on occasion. Generally I discuss politics over tea.

But you also have to bear in mind, what one person finds pointless, you may find very important. Vice Versa.


Example (a bit extreme):

While I may come off cold for hitting a dog entering the road, I would wreck my car if a child appeared in front of me.

They made me do that in 1st grade. We even had a mock election.
