One thing I'd like to say is that I don't always recommend getting as many eggs as you can hoard, but rather how many you can take care of -and- want to handle. :]
But you don't have to listen to me. ^^

Hi there! Welcome to EggCave. ^^

As a new user, the first thing to do is get yourself some creatures! But you've already done that, so you get a gold star. X3

The second thing is to start evolving those creatures (or not, if you like their early stages better). You can see what they'll look like in the Archives, and also what they need to evolve.

Another good thing to do is post on the forums. People here seem to like forum games, so if you do those you might meet some people. There are always discussion boards up, and everybody's really friendly, so if you introduce yourself as a new user people will be nice. EggCave also has a pretty active roleplay community, if you like to write. Your grammar seems pretty good. ;D Another gold star for you.

The people @moon_thief pinged are important people to the site. Ian is the creator. He's the guy in charge. He's pretty cool. @annapashmina and @meteoroid are moderators; they help keep the forums clean and answer tickets.

The reason we do the thing with the @ is to give the person a notification. You type an @ and then their username. Then, they know that somebody wants them to see something.

You can ping by putting '@' before the user. It's called ping. You can use it when you reply in a forum post though. If it's something that's said on your wall, you also have to reply on their wall. 😊
