I draw things on paper, but when I make creatures that's not what I use for the final version.
Usually, I sketch it out on paper, then make the finished version with Paint.
I'm not that good with shading on Paint, though. 😋

But what I do is..complicated XD
I color them on gimp, take a screenie, select the drawing on paint, then upload to tinypic XD

I'm interested and I have a lot of free time so I could get them done fairly quickly. c:

I prefer to sketch it and color it on paper but if it doesn't look good I'll color it on gimp. 😋
