http://i46.tinypic.com/34td10m.jpgSallad is loosing almost all of the feathers on his leg and some feathers on his leg and some around his ear.is this some kind of disease?i need a answer fast!and i think there is something wrong with sallad.He can't play like the others, he can't sing and scream like the other birds and his beak is worn out so it's a little hard to eat.☹️i'm so worried!TT_TT

That happened to my bird. We had to change his food and then put this little metal thing that keeps bugs away in his cage. After that he was fine! 😊 Hope i helped!

Yeah, when those bugs suck the blood (No there not fleas) it can get them either sick or dipressed. There feathers start falling out and there personality begins to change. They can also die from it...@sanibel_18

@hay7199i think it's too late to help him.TT-TThas has something brown on his ear.he might have some kind of otitis and i read that there is nothing that could help him!I'M CRYING RIGHT NOW.TT_TT

@sanibel_18First of all, calm down. Your bird won't be helped if you panic.Then, on Yahoo answers and other sites like that, post up something like that.Then talk to your mom about going to the vet. If she realizes that you really really REALLY love this bird, for your sake she would go.

@sanibel_18 Just try to go to any nearby vet that helps birds.Don't worry, Sallad will be fine.

@Sanniel_18I'm sorry for your loss :[I only saw this now, but that didn't really look like mites. [Usually they have welps where the bugs have bit them]It looks like feather plucking, which is a sign of distress. He could have been sick for a while.Before you get another bird, try to get your mom to understand that all birds need vets. There can't be "I can't convince her not to let me go" because it could be a small problem that turns fatal if left untreated.For the better good of the animals, even if it means you can't get a bird until you live on your own, hold on.If you //can// convince her, you need to clean the cage. Preferably with diluted bleach water and and time to sit out and dry; this could get rid of any parasite, or harmful chemical that your bird was exposed to that could have been the fatal blow. I know this is painful, but you still need to take him to the vet to figure out what was wrong with him, to know the solution of future problems. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my little birdies ;-;//Gives cookie//

Aww. ☹️ Hopefully he'll be okay! Sadly I can't help but my hamster had the same thing - he lost like all of his hair except the hair on his face! It doesn't affect him though, and for my hamster it could be loss of nutrients or old age. That could be the cause for your bird losing its feathers.EDIT// Oh no, I just read that he passed away. :'( I'm so sorry!! That must suck. ☹️ ☹️

@blackdeathkittyit's okay now, i'm actually a little happy that he died.😊he was suffering his hole life, but now he's in budgie heaven with other birds.:,)@cafewhen my mom saw me crying she understood how much i care for my birds.😊we cleaned the cage.but it was too late to go to the vet. I saw him sitting on the floor when i came back from school and we didn't have time to drive to the vet.☹️Sallad wasn't really my friend, he was always scared of humans.😱but is my little twilight dies, i will die too.☹️thanks for cookie.😊 OMNOMNOMNOM@cottonit did really freak me out when i saw him dead on the floor.☹️but i'm okay now, Twilight started singing when he saw me crying.😊@mastermeppi really needed a hug.😊
