Nope, absolutely none! Ahaha this degree gets you like 10 jobs as opposed to a business where it's like 40+ jobs.... awks, but it's also more diverse(can apply to other *kinds* of jobs) and fun. x)

I'm in first year, so still new to basically everything. We do a lot of hands-on projects, so yes definitely more practical than theory. I've actually done so much art already!

I love your art. The pics remind me of when I was in Visual Art. (I did the vis. art diploma, not the BFA. I'm waiting to see if our college is gonna become a university. If it does, I won't have to move to get my BFA)

I ended up choosing painting when it came to choosing what medium we specialized in course-wise.

Do you guys do what we did and do a bit of everything first year and then choose one in later years or do you do it differently?

That's awesome! Painting is legitimately my worst medium, but I always admired people who can do really well in it.

Yup. We learn everything this year and then move on to more specific mediums and classes dedicated to those mediums!

@skylark @dada_Dragon Sadness, I won't ever get to explore nearly as many mediums as you guys. I'm kinda stuck doing trad pencil sketches and digital 'cause I never pursued that interest of mine.

Yass Sky baby, your man and woman studies! Would love to see you get into portraits/drawing stills. You good at them. Sculptures too!
Omfg will be waiting for an influx of awesomeness this summer, le stalk. You also need to share some pro advice, I'm itching to get better also. =3

Omg it's not just us???? Good, cuz I was like "yo this is crazy!" Contour lines, man. Cx I apparently nailed the proportions in most of my drawings. Which kinda doesn't surprise me, sighting is like the most beautiful and eye-opening thing I've learned from this year that has hugely benefited my life tbqh. ❤️❤️

I didn't mean that I don't have resources. I just don't have time because I'm in a high school that specializes in foreign languages - basically studying German and Spanish like crazy and I also have all of the other subjects. In terms of pursuing my dream, I made it so now I have other priorities and thus kind of drove myself into a literary/artistic corner. ^^"
I'm still progressing, I mean I am incredibly proud of my digital skills considering how little I've practiced, but still.

Just now being told that these two were strangers makes me really happy. I've always wanted to draw random people. So much so that I've this dream of living in a big city and having to take the bus to school and drawing while I ride. Idk man strangers... random ppl from the street make you realize how incredibly diverse human appearances are and that's so fab.

I always make my drawings characters though... idk xD

In the sense that I'm studying for a German certificate. I already have one in english cause we have some sort of... idk extra lessons that a certain company offers.
As in, we kind of don't rely on our school to give us the necessary education in some parts cause a school can't exactly cover the biology and chemistry lessons that I need to pass my exams in medical university AND the german lessons necessary to pass my exam in German, so idk, I have extra bio/chem lessons XD

What do you study? =3 You're still in high school, or?

It sounds very different from here; we just go to school--maybe take classes at universities/colleges if we want more credits or something that's not offered.

Clubs, testing, all that.

We're in general studies, I suppose. No real focus towards a career, as we still have to take some electives in art and fitness.

Algebra 2
Chemistry
Math Analysis/Trig
English Honors
Sociology

...No electives. Very stressed.

Oh my gosh I have no life now. I am making an RPG game and it is eating up all the spare time that I have not dedicated to procrastinating. And my sleep. It is eating that up too. ☹️
