Oh yes, if you buy our crap, we'll pay attention to your tickets!

So let's just say, I said something stupid on the Neoboards on Neopets. Not going to repeat what I had said, only fine, I admit...it was childish of me and maybe I shouldn't have worded it the way I had. But permanently silenced for it? I had never even received a warning before. =/

So I sent in a ticket for the heck of it, and sure enough, a couple days later (today)...I can access the Neoboards again. I just have a warning telling me not to speak religiously or whatever.

Thing is, I kind of wonder their motive behind doing it. Just a few days ago, I had paid 25 bucks or so to prepare for the KQ token releases in the NC mall. They even ask when you send in a ticket if you buy NC. It kind of makes me wonder if they really do pay more attention to you if you give them your $$$. =/
On my first account, I'd send in a ticket for the simplest things and I'd be lucky if they ever even answered them. This was before I spent anything in the NC mall.

So yeah...maybe they were actually doing their job. Who am I to judge? But it just seems awfully fishy.

They actually do. Neopets didn't use to be a money-hungry kid's website. But things changed over the time...EggCave is a lucky few websites that aren't mega money eaters. :C

@metaphor chibidarkness is right, Neopets are now a mega money eater website, and so the players who spend money on it are a priority. Neopets is now a serious business. That's why I don't pay much attention to it anymore, even though I still check my account every once in a while to play some games and check my pets.

And I don't mean to criticize this website or something (because I love Egg Cave and I've been here for 2 years already and I feel like I'll be staying here for a very long time), but Egg Cave is also becoming a business, with this Cash Shop Park exclusivity. In fact, most adoptables websites are becoming like Neopets. It's sad but it's true☹️

Yep if they did not care they would not ask. I have been on Neo for 9 years. Haven't been very active in the last year.Seen too many changes and not worth all the money I spent.

With all the changes they made to Premium they are hoping to get those who left back. I am a bit tempted to try the Month for 1/2 price. Just not sure still

They got back to me quickly when I couldn't access my account and I haven't spent a penny on their site, so not fully true, but it doesn't surprise me that they kind of do that.

That is essentially the reason why I quit. Don't really regret it either.

[And also partially because some of the Mods. there are extremely biased and abusive of their own benefits/powers.]

Thats why I quit. The members on the HC are rude, and trolls. They formed their own little group and continued trolling me until I quit. I reported them, but guess who still is online? Them. v.v

Lots of things happen on adoptables websites. If Egg Cave gets a "premium membership" option, I'd kill Ian. xD No I wouldn't, I'd probably buy it, but it would be unfair for Ian to favor those who buy CC. Thankfully, he doesn't... yet.
And I don't think he will.

Neo is famous for banning/warning/silencing for various reasons, ones that may even be unfair.

If you want to stay on Neopets a long time basically avoid the Boards, or avoid posting much. In other words don't socialize much with the people there. Not worth it. If you slip up and post something that's part of their never-ending-list- of -stuff -you -could -get- banned -for -but -they- don't- have- it- all- written- down- so- you're- screwed.... There are a lot of trolls on there and Neo is very picky on what you say. I've gotten various warnings. Luckily I'm not active on Neo and I mostly read than post on boards so my account is still around XD I'm super careful. I'd cry if I lost my account again. I may not be as active as I used to be but I have spent money on there, I put in hours of time.. my account is over 6 years old now. So it has history and memories for me. The accounts I had before that one were all frozen because of arguments i got into with people on the boards >.>

PS: Of course it makes sense that those that spend money are favored. It may seem unfair but that's how it is anyway. Not only in adoptable sites but in games and in RL. Money is power. Though if sites/games don't balance their favoritism they lose people... so they appear inactive... and s get bad reviews, and slowly die. Not like everyone in their community would be spending money and if they are then I guess they survive.

Neopets is unfair to me...yes i play a little but just to zap my pets and that is about it. I just have 1 account because i didn't want to deal with another but i try to just avoid talking altogether on that site.

I have had accounts frozen but for saftey back when the hackers were big and stole everyone's accounts.

But i love EggCave because it is the complete oposite of Neo.

@metaphor: I've noticed that they're way stricter than any other virtual pet site, like when they freeze or silence people and for different reasons too.
But with the ticket thing, they probably get thousands of tickets a day. I got frozen twice from hackers and I repeatedly sent tickets in and they finally replied 😋
