I am having terrible stomach cramps. I've taken ibuprofen, and it won't go away!
Any tips on ways to relief for the pain? ☚ī¸

@whispers

Ooh....A hot bath. Depends on what's causing it. (If you know what I mean)

@whispers Could try eating a banana. A lot of cramps are caused by low potassium and eating a banana will help up your potassium levels.

@Whispers Depends on the cramps you're talking about. o.o The only cramps I ever have are... THE cramps. Extremely painful. Every single time. But I use heating pads on my stomach and I try to lie down, if that helps. Don't try to move too much, because it would just hurt more.

I don't have THE cramps. >_> So I don't know what's causing it.

@orderedchaos

@Whispers

Like @Dreamer said, The only cramps I've ever had are THE cramps.

And, you keep saying it's not THE cramps..so, you could try taking a nap (it helps me xD) or just don't do anything.
That's all I know, if I have more, I'll let you know.

@Whispers Well, I'm not sure then. XD

It could be:

Starting to be *the* cramps (That would be pretty obvious though, they're around the lower stomach and they have a different sort of achey-feeling).
It could be stomach cramps. My friend had cramps a few weeks ago, but she was just sick.
I'm not good with causes and cures... Just do what you think is best. X3

@whispers

Try to relax and get some rest somehow, if a nap isn't possible try to find something to take your mind off things and which relaxes you (for me it's usually manga X3 ). I have no experience with other cramps than THE cramps, but when you feel bad, relaxing and getting some rest are often the best things to do 😊

@Faybaybay That's what I was thinking. X3 But it's usually pretty obvious, for me at least.

@Faybaybay Good point. X3 I don't even remember... It was like a year and half ago, I was 10 and we were finding somewhere to eat but I wasn't hungry and I felt horrible. XP Then 2 days later it happened. But now I always have THE cramps, so I use heating pads and take some medicine. It hurts so bad that it makes me cry. D'8 But I get through it. X3

@dreamer

Heatjng pads are the best, I use them during cross country season for injuries, and THE cramps. Ibprofen is a savior for my headaches, i get headaches all the time, and food, food heals everything.

It is possible you could be getting THE cramps, I felt stomach cramps when I was I think, eleven? I felt cramps for a few days and one day I found the cause of the cramps, turns out it was THE cramps.

Normally I take pain reliever pills which help but, I don't like to take them all the time, I'm not into medication, so I normally rest and curl up in the fetal position, I try to not move around that much, the pain just gets worse.

But that's just me.

@Whispers Aww, I'm sorry. ☚ī¸ I went swimming with them one time. It's really not as bad as it seems.

At least you're older and you get it... I was only 10 years old when it happened, and I flipped. O_O I had lost my apetite that entire week and I was always in a horrible mood, but I had no idea what was wrong.

If you still have really bad cramps, you can try my advice. Everyone's different. Some people get cramps, sme occasionally, some never. I always do as of late, and it makes me cry sometimes, but it's bearable.

I should be due any day now, for the 20th time. >.> If you want more advice, just ask. I'm pretty open about this subject. X3

I thought I was never going to get it XD
If I need advice
I will PM you
None of my RL friends have had IT XD
So why ask them, and I'd rather not ask my parents .w.

@Whispers
Same here. X3 When it happened for me, my mom wasn't surprised. But I was. O_o She said when she was younger, she was DYING to get it. Plus, she was 13, so it was even more surprising.
Not many of my friends have had it either. When I was in the fifth grade I kept telling all the girls in my class about it and they were like, mystified. XD
It can be a pretty awkward conversation when it comes to most people. :X I don't find it awkward at all though. 😸

I find it awkward with my parents. .w.
I just find it...weird xD
I can talk to my friends about it all I want and not feel awkward at all XD

@WHISPERS

If its not "THE cramps" try a massager, or just do something to forget about it, like paly video games, then your mind will be taken off of it, or just sleep for an hour and it usaully goes away...

@Whispers
Yeah, it's an awkward subject when I ask my parents... My dad gets nosy and my mom just gets a little TOO close. X3
It's more fun talking to your friends who have never experienced it before. XD I don't know why... It makes me feel like I'm teaching them something. B)
The whole concept is pretty awkward... But that's kinda the point of life. 😋 You get used to it though, trust me. Plus, when we're in highschool, EVERYONE will have it, so it's better to get a laugh while you still can. ;D

@Whispers

It was THE cramps O: I got the thing that causes THE cramps last friday

Deleted • 28 June 2012 at 9:57 PM

@whispers I'm due for THE cramps in a few days 😋 I once had them so bad during school I stayed home for two days... I told everyone I had a fever XP I'm a bit heavier weight wise, so I get it bad... One hint I found out is not to eat ginger when you have THE cramps, because sometimes depending on the color of the cause of THE cramps it can cause heavy flow....
Oh, and I always dreaded getting THE cramps in school because I'd get anxiety thinking I'd (you know...) which would cause me to throw up. I got off real easy one week by getting myself excited about(? I forgot what I was excited about XD) something.😊
