[Rant] Quick one.

Okay so CC trading has seemed to become the only trading around here. More recent Cave LEs are thrown out like trash in the trading business and if you do put a lot out with LEs alone for a CC pet, it barely gets good offers.

It is really disappointing, a while back I decided I would no longer buy CC. Not to be evil or anything but I realized dance shoes, leotards, and clothes were not inexpensive and my parents shouldn't have to pay for them always. I mean $15 of CC could get me a new top or leotard. But now I can't get any CC pets unless I trade my CCs for it or buy it myself.

People will almost ONLY accept CC for CC trades. I mean, I can't blame most people but eggcave is revolving around it. It isn't a good system to revolve around. Ian said this would be a free site(which I appreciate). I guess he never said it would be free to enjoy it to the fullest.

I just wish there was a way to even it out; I mean the Cave pets to Cash shop pet value. Maybe make cuter cave pets, or make more interesting cave pets that will make CC obtainable for those who have no CC.

I may edit this later when my thoughts are more collected, I am currently getting ready for a party. If you have any ideas or agree or disagree or whatever, you can comment!

I agree too. Old Le's seem worthless and its nearly impossible to trade. I'll add later.

I was thinking making more exciting cave creatures and retiring a few then adding more, it would add value to the retired ones. Retiring and making new ones would be a lot of work for the artists though.

@balletninja - I understand this completely, especially since people now seem to think that STAR creatures are worth CC. I'm only trading my creatures for CC to survive, because I want these new monthlies, but I don't want to spend 10$ on them that I could use for my trip to Europe. I also can't believe that the only trades I even see anymore are for massive amounts of CC. I can understand a lot of EC for a CC creature that came out a month ago, but to ask 1000 or 1500 for them? Blah. 😋

I just wish it was easier to get the CC or that we had more cave creatures. Maybe 2 CC a month and 1 Cave Creature?

Yes, I completely agree. It has become difficult to obtain the creatures you want unless you have Cave Cash to trade.

@balletninja I agree. 😊 maybe CSP pet should be "uglier" than the cave pets each month xD *I can hear the protests* but cave pets should definitely be cuter AND with more detail (most of them look boring D: )

@balletninja I agree =\ The only reason why I'm still here are my beloved creatures and the ones I adopted from other users.

This isn't the same website anymore. Before people would trade in peace and be patient and opened to all kinds of offers. People would even deliberately offer less valuable eggs on more valuable ones. In fact, people wouldn't trade for values or rarity numbers, but for the love for a certain creature. Now CC is all people think about, with CC for CC trades. It's the capitalism taking control of the website.

And I can't seem to stop wondering: If EC needs to pay for maintenance, how did the website survive anyway back when there were only 2 creatures available in the CSP? Because of ads, right? And why do we still have so many ads running if Ian announced that with CC they would be appearing less? Why aren't new cave creatures being regularly released? Why are the few released cave creatures more ugly than the CSP ones?

I HATE this CSP/CC exclusivity! I find this sentence particularly interesting: "Cash Shop Park supporters get to enjoy limited creatures and items and non-supporters get to enjoy an uncluttered and simple Egg Cave. Everybody wins." No, not everybody wins because not everybody have access to GOOD creatures. And since some of the best cave creatures are now extinct - such as the drakomo and aerlo - how are newbies supposed to "win"?

Personally, once I get CC creatures, or CC I will only be trading for CC but that's because of how hard it is to get. But if I do have extra, I do hope to gift to some users that can't get it.

Honestly, I would buy CC in a heart beat if there was a different way to buy it.

I hope Ian gets there soon. I have $40 in front of me, and I can't use paypal nor a credit card. *sigh*

Though, the site did run on ads, but Ian does deserve to make some money for his hard work.

On that note, I do wish I saw more releases in the cave, and not three cash shop creatures a month. I think two would be better in my honest opinion.

Ive only been here a month so i dont know what old eggcave was like, bur I wish everything werent so based on CC too, People have been nice enough to give me CC and EC and even creatures for drawing them art though ^^ at least the people are generous

Agreed... Even now, older LEs are almost worthless. I also notice that most newbies struggle harder than ever to achieve their dream coves. The newbies with CC trade it and receive rare and retired CC creatures. It's unfair to those of us that don't have the ability to purchase CC. Many newbies rely heavily on gifts given to them by sympathetic older users or quitting oldies. The CC inflation also drastically decreases the chance of most users, even those with accounts over a year old, of reaching their dream cove goals. The LEs that were once worth freezes are now worth less than a cent (1CC). People are less willing to trade their older CCs for LEs. They can't be blamed, though. Without older CCs, it's nearly impossible to trade for dream creatures such as Doovoos and Macbots. The only LE that has still managed to retain its value is the Tine, which is quite a remarkable feat. It's no wonder so many newbies quit early on.

@april__ I totally understand that. I mean I am like that a lot but I really dislike it because I feel like I have no other choice.

@shadielle I love your post ❤️ The cave creatures just don't get the time, attention, or quality that Cash creatures do. I don't think it is the artist's fault either.

@vampire666 I quite like that idea, but they all have to be the same great quality. Not a bad cave creature and two awesome cash creatures.

@twilight_raptor YESH. Really good cave creatures make it SO much easier to trade for cave cash using them. (Aka Foo, Florn, tine, ect.)

I just hope eggcave doesn't turn into a clubpenguin type thing. Like "Oh, you can play and have fun and all but to really PLAY and HAVE FUN you better have some money."

@crescentfeather Yes, the early quitting newbies are also a problem. Nowadays, since EC is becoming a very good looking and organized website, many users are joining. But they leave soon anyway. And the thing is, not only newbies quit, many oldies are also quitting. And that means something isn't right =\

@shadielle I notice that most are quitting because of the negativity and the fact that it seems impossible to achieve their dream coves. Real life issues play a part as well, but there's nothing Ian can do about that.

I understand what you're saying, but there doesn't seem to be any other way around it nowadays. We want what has higher value & don't appreciate the simpler things as much...
I'd love it if Ian would try and lower the prices a tad bit just to see if that would help at all.

But two years ago, there were much less users. Now that there are more, I think that causes Egg Cave to take up more information space which causes the cost of maintaining Egg Cave to rise which in turn makes Egg Cave more reliant on the Cash Shop Park. It's not cheap & ads can't pay for everything. After all, don't you see how many ads Neopets has floating around? Sure Egg Cave isn't as big as Neopets though...
I don't like that one bit, as I think that's what caused Neopets to become less inviting & I fear that may become the downfall of Egg Cave D:

Saying it's impossible for a newbie to obtain a Macbot or Doovoo is definitely not true. I managed to get two Doovoos, a Onny, and a Tine in the 11 months I've been here. All you have to do is have some dedication and stick to your goal.

Just got a little annoyed at some of the earlier posts.

I agree....I have to go almost to the end of the earth to get older LE's.But it's so easy to get newer LE's. 😊

@icymuffin I never said get rid of it if that is what you were trying to say. I just suggest evening it out. I know people payed CC for Tifics, and good looking LEs. I am just asking for a reasonable way for users who can't get CC to be able to get CC by trading and such. It is pretty darn hard.

@hai It isn't impossible but you do have to A. have a really nice person who doesn't care for CC to trade with. B. Somehow have obtained a lot of CC creatures without using your own CC. (Hard and possible but not even somewhat easy if you didn't start eggcave a while ago) or C. Have and use your own CC.

I agree, CC is kind of ruining people's experience. Even the newbies, Did anyone notice they are getting sucked into it, too? Its kinda sad. ☹️

But really though, such a system would most likely to be complicated and cause more complaints [especially if it were to work in a way that would prevent multiple fake accounts, cheating, etc.] D:
You can't really deny that some users will be tempted to cheat
I'd really like for other users to be happy on Egg Cave too, but not everything will or can be fair.
You just gotta face it or fix it, but you got to remember you can't have everything. :I

When Ian rereleases old LEs to let people get them, users complain en masse about the drop of value in these LEs.

Now users are also complaining about how hard it is to trade for those old LEs.

Which is which?

@mrsgiggles Actually no. We were complaining about how hard CC is to get for people who want to trade for it rather spend their own money.

I don't think it is ridiculous to ask for a good way for trade for CC.
I mean cheating had always been a problem but it hasn't affected the CC trades too much. The cheaters usually horde them from what I have seen.

@mrsgiggles Totally. I said something like this a while ago in another topic. People complain about re-releases because of the drop of value... but instead of thinking in rarity numbers, people should be happy when old creatures are back and care about the creature itself. I traded a lot for my five 2009 foos and I absolutely loved that the 2009 christmas creatures got re-released. Oh well, some people are very greedy☹️
