This may seem like a little deal to most of you, but to me, this is the equivalent of going to a new school so keep that in mind while reading this.

So I am going to a camp on Sunday where you stay in a dorm for a week. That doesn't scare me at all, my friend is going with me and we will most likely get each other as dorm mates.

The part that scares me is the audition, I didn't mention this before but this is a MUSICAL camp. We put on a production in a week. There are a lot of important people in this camp and watching over this camp and I must make a good impression. The auditions really scare me. I don't wanna mess up, but it happens to me a lot. I would wager that I am good, I just get really nervous. I don't have stage freight really. Just audition fright. My last one, I did... Eh. Okay.

I didn't really get to prepare much with my vocal coach. This song has really just been on me. And to make a bad impression would make me so sad. I mean, I am getting chorus no matter what (you only get roles after like 11th grade) so that doesn't scare me. Just my impression on people.

I don't want to mess up this production, and I want to be the best I can. Anyone have any advice?

at age 20, I finally realized life is like one giant Live Action Role Play.

You can chose to be whoever you want to be, and act like whoever you want to be.

You just have to be confident in yourself and your abilities.

Approximately 85% of all people in the world fear public speaking worse than death and I'm pretty sure this counts as a form of it. So a good guess is you're not alone.

The best advice I can give is have fun, be yourself, and don't forget to take deep breaths ^^

@phoenixfox Not scared of public speaking. Public singing... Yes.

I do act confident but the fades as soon as people figure out you aren't as good as you claim to be.

Anyways, know any good fixes for a headache?

Immediate? I usually take a relaxing shower if it's really bad, if not then a bit of quiet time while rubbing your temples and meditation might help.

I'm sure you'll do amazing. 😊 Don't worry. Yeah, I'm freaked out about singing in public too. Even in front of my best friends ALONE. Yeah, it's weird. But just relax and just think- do you think about other people all the time? Are you always watching everything they do and would freak out if they messed up singing or whatever? Every person is scared that everyone is thinking about them and ready to judge them but honestly; every person is always focused on themselves. They're not thinking about you, they're thinking about them. 😊 so just think of it that way. Because it's true. 😋

And for headaches, I get migraines a lot and what I do is I just lay down and try to take a nap in a dark room. This will help 😸

@balletninja

for your headache: there is a pressure point in the hand (between the thumb and index finger) massaging between there usually gets rid of my headaches, especially if it's from dehydration. So drink lots of water and you can try massaging your temples or just lie down for a bit. Hope this helps you 😊

Hey, I had a camp like that for three weeks last month 😊 (I had to write an application essay! 😱)If you want to feel more confident and ready for the audition, the best wus are to:

-practice, practice, practice!!! (if you can at home 😉)
-don't spend your every waking hour thinking and worrying about it, watch a movie or do something you like to relax 😊
-talk with your friends about it. If they're really your friends, they will be able to help you and give you advice! 😸
-also, the day before, go to bed early and set your alarm clock early so you have extra time to get ready! 😃

Good luck! 😊

Relax and dont stress yourself out. Memorize a bit at a time. Gets lots of sleep. And tell yourself you will pass, your talented, and you will rock the audition.

@balletninja

1. Don't practice alot, your voice can run out.

2. Act confident, no matter how unconfident you may seem. 😊

3. Don't smile too much.

4. NEVER imagine the anybody in their underwear, its frightening and doesn't really work. (Well, for me it doesn't.)

5. In the audition, stare of somewhere behind the people watching you, to make it look like you are watching them. When you really aren't. *wink,wink*

I hope that helped. 😃

@balletninja

I have the SAME problem.

Ok, it took me a couple tries to get over it.
I just think of it as no big deal, pretend Im the only one in the room, like Im singing to myself.

Key: CONFIDENCE 😉

@ice2505

I am awesome singing in front of myself, or even my brother.

And yeah, it is an on and off thing for me, I think I am over stage freight now. Pretty sure.

But ya know, voices can do funny things in front of an audience.

The last time I sang was 7 years ago when I was in my grade's production of "A-Z Does It". I was one of the leads, aka vowels, and I was E 😃 Well now, I suck at singing xD I can't give you advice but have fun 😊

@balletninja I know how you feel. Sometimes I'm just singing in my room (because I love to sing) and one of my parents randomly pop in. I get scared because the only person I like to sing to is myself.

For your head-ache: I would recommend lying down in a dark and warm room and trying to sleep.

For your stress: Try reading a happy/calm book. Horror books are NOT good for the stress. Believe me, I've tried.

For both: Try drinking warm water or tea every so often. If you have a pet, that's good. I've heard adult dogs are the best pet to have to cure stress. They're loyal, cute, calm, they listen to you, and don't judge you either. Try pressure points too.

I hope this helps: http://www.livestrong.com/article/17915-great-relax-using-pressure-points/
