Have any of you eggcavers out there ever heard of lucid dreaming/had a lucid dream? I'm trying to learn how to 😋If you don't know what it is, it's basically when you are aware that you are dreaming and can consciously control your dream, to fly and talk to people, etc. 😊

@Replica A few months ago, I tried lucid dreaming. I could do so many things I could never do here... 😱 I gave up though. It's way too hard.
becca9249 • 25 July 2012 at 3:29 PM
@replica I've always had lucid dreams naturally, even as a kid. I usually get them about 3 times a week, at least.I hate them :/ They're cool every once in a while, but I always wake up feeling so tired. I can't even remember the last time I had a dreamless sleep 😋

I had a Lucid dream last night. I was in the pokemon world and then I went into the world of Kiju, then.... OMG I was like sooooo tired when I woke up. It was like.... I slept until like 3 in the afternoon XD
replica • 25 July 2012 at 3:44 PM
@dreamer It sounds like it does take a lot of effort! 😊 I'm trying to get at least one! 😉@becca9249 I've heard a lot of people who have "too many" natural lucid dreams since they were kids! What's the best one you can remember? 😊@hay7199 That sounds cool and confusing at the same time xD
spirithawk • 25 July 2012 at 3:47 PM
It's easy to lucid dream. http://www.wikihow.com/Lucid-DreamI just read that and that's how I get myself to lucid dream sometimes.
replica • 25 July 2012 at 3:51 PM
@spirithawk thanks! 😃 I will read it when I get the chance 😸
decks123456 • 25 July 2012 at 3:53 PM
how can you tell if your lucid dreaming? i can re-dream/continue old dreams, but in every dream i have, im the one doing stuff, and its not like i disagree with what im doing...what i mean is how is lucid dreaming different from regular? can you actually think in the dreams? o_osorry, i cant word this right xD
dreamer • 25 July 2012 at 4:14 PM
@Replica I'm going to practice lucid dreaming again. 😸 I REALLY want to be able to shape-shift It's one of my deepest wishes that can never happen in real life. 😱 It would just be amazing.http://www.wikihow.com/Use-the-Dream😱N-App-to-Influence-Your-DreamsThis App seems pretty helpful as well, I might try downloading it later. 😊
replica • 25 July 2012 at 4:22 PM
@dreamer I also like to look at world-of-lucid-dreaming.com because they have a lot of helpful articles 😊 hope that helps! Good luck! 😃@decks123456 In lucid dreams you can understand that you are dreaming and can control how your dream acts. I'm not really sure, but I THINK that you can think and recall recent things during a lucid dream 😉
dreamer • 25 July 2012 at 4:24 PM
@Replica Oh yeah! I've looked at that sitebefore. 😸 It got me a little bit TOO excited about lucid dreaming, though, and I didn't get any sleep at all. X3
lily- • 25 July 2012 at 4:26 PM
@replicaCool, good luck with them. I've never had one before though (I think), but they always sound cool, I might try to sometime though 😊
decks123456 • 25 July 2012 at 4:30 PM
@replicai have always been able to decide what im doing and think in my dreams, but never decide how my dream goes.i can throw something on the ground in my dream then feel guilty because im litering, but i cant decide what happens in my dream, just how i react to it o_o
becca9249 • 25 July 2012 at 4:34 PM
@replica I like the flying ones the best, even though I'm terrified of it in real life x) I don't even know how to describe it, it just feels amazing. And I know I can't fall, and if I do I'm just like, "Hey, let's land in a giant field of marshmallows." x)
replica • 25 July 2012 at 4:39 PM
@dreamer I know! I got all worked up last night and didn't get a wink of sleep X3@lily- thanks! @decks123456 can you actually discern between real life and the dream world while you are dreaming? Your subconscious is just thinking for you unless you realize with your conscious mind what is going on 😉@becca9249 I'm a bit jealous! 😃
piucca • 25 July 2012 at 4:40 PM
@replicaYeah, I have those more often then REM.
replica • 25 July 2012 at 4:41 PM
@piucca My REM dreams usually turn out fuzzy and bland, so I'm trying to upgrade to lucid dreams 😊
piucca • 25 July 2012 at 4:45 PM
@replicaMost REM dreaming is not remembered 😋Only when you wake up during or directly after do you recall them ❤️NREM is when you should influence your dreams, but technically you aren't sleeping, just resting. You will then go from Lucid or N1 to N2 where you have less control, then to N3 where you might not even recall your dreams since it is so close to REM sleep 😋NREM shouldn't last more then 20 minutes or so, but feel like hours 😊For better sleep, try this:http://sleepyti.me/

@piucca Oh, Thanks! ^^
decks123456 • 25 July 2012 at 4:53 PM
@replicaIDKno o-oi can actually feel emotions though, like i feel pain, confusion, anadexitement. and i cant do anything unless i was able to from the start. i can recognize an issue and try to solve it, by using memories i had earlier in the dream, but not real life.
inkstep • 25 July 2012 at 4:55 PM
I've been lucid dreaming as long as I can remember XD it helps when I'm in surgery bc it's like my own alternate reality. A note though, if you do it and keep your focus enough (and remember to write things down outside of your dreams) You can make your own world 😃
replica • 25 July 2012 at 5:29 PM
@decks123456 apparently feeling those sensations is normal, from what I've read o.o @inkstep that is one of the things I'd like to do once I can handle it! x) I've started keeping a dream journal since my memory of my dreams has become more consistant 😊

I think my dreams have been getting more lucid. :] Before, I sometimes observed myself from outside during my dream, but now this doesn't happen anymore and I can make more choices and such. When this does happen, I think it's pretty fun.For actual lucid dreams, however, while I do have them sometimes, the main problem is staying asleep. Once I realize I'm dreaming, I usually wake up. The first time this happened, I didn't like how my dream was going, so I made myself wake up. I usually do this if I don't like my dream, but it also happens involuntarily. D:On the other hand, I've had dreams where I can fly, reverse time if something I don't like happens, and other stuff. ^^Anyway, I've read that there are different levels of lucid dreams. In a very non-lucid dream, you'd probably be watching yourself from outside with no influence on anything. In a very lucid dream, you'd be fully aware that you are dreaming and be able to control yourself and your surroundings. Sometimes you can be aware that you're dreaming, but not be able to control your surroundings, or even fully control yourself.I've had different levels of lucid dreams, but at the moment I admit I prefer dreams like in real life, where you can control yourself but not your surroundings. I think it would be fun to have more lucid dreams, though. (:
replica • 25 July 2012 at 11:35 PM
@ladybugheart Cool! 😊 I think the key to staying in a lucid dream longer is to spin around and keep calm, or something weird like that (or at least that's what the articles I read say) X)
karamel • 26 July 2012 at 1:38 PM
@replica I am very good at lucid dreaming although I can't really "teach" anyone how to - I think I'm just a freak of nature that way xD I always either forget my dream, or I lucid dream: always one or the other. I learnt to lucid dream a few years ago and I've been doing it ever since. If you want to control what you're dreaming about, make sure you take baby steps: if you're sitting down first and want to fly, stand up first and then jump a little, increasing height until you feel confident you can fly. Don't just sit and then suddenly jump up and fly - even though you're dreaming, you can't do everything at once 😉The same goes with scenery change: if you want to go from inside a volcano to an ocean, think of something that removes the volcano or removes you from the volcano: maybe you levitated (look at the above paragraph before you try to float/jump/fly), or a bird came and caught you and brought you up.When you perform a reality check (in your dreams) or suddenly realize you're lucid dreaming, don't flail around and jump and scream "OMG I'M LUCID DREAMING ASDFGHJKL;". Calmly say to yourself, "I'm lucid dreaming", or just silently acknowledge the fact that you're lucid dreaming. The first time I lucid-dreamt, I did this, and I woke up (because of excitedness) and thought I was still lucid dreaming and I was still flailing around xDI can try to give you tips but I'm not good at explaining things like these xD I'll try my best though.(Anyone else can ask me too.)
replica • 26 July 2012 at 1:46 PM
@karamel X) Haha! Thanks for the advice! 😊
dreamer • 26 July 2012 at 9:09 PM
I got some app on my phone last night. You set the timer, then you fall asleep, and when the timer runs out, it plays short binaural beats to help you with lucidity in a dream. I tried it last night and set the timer for an our, but I was still awake after the hour passed. -_- I fell sleep right AFTER the timer, actually. It was annoying. But I'm trying again tonight. I'll set the timer for 90 minutes instead.
awesomeness365 • 26 July 2012 at 9:25 PM
@replica: I've only lucid-dreamt once, but it was a long time ago... 😃
replica • 26 July 2012 at 10:33 PM
@dreamer good luck! 😊@awesomeness365 at least you had one! X3
chowchow2012 • 26 July 2012 at 11:05 PM
