Sometimes, we always do voting in forums, by replying them. I thought of an idea. We can make a voting system and make people vote on the forum. For example: I can set up a topic saying "which kind of egg creatures you like the most". Then, people can vote on it. Then when new people see this post, they could know quickly about the result without having to count pages to know.

So much easier than counting and posting xD

Like polls? 😊 That would be interesting.

@omgtofubebe
Great idea. I imagine a "Thumbs up" or a "Thumbs down" on the top of the topic.

I've seen problems with this on other webs though, some people manage (I have no idea how) to vote twice..

Another thought: Will people be able to see the results so far? People's decisions can be influenced quickly. When typing/replying, people can reply what they think about it, why they support and not support it, etc.

I believe egg cave users are honest and good. I won't do that, hope others won't do that too!

I personally think that replying is better, but then the counting bit will get on your nerves. When you are in between of an answer, you'll just most likely choose the 'popular' choice.

@determination

But people who create the poll could choose that if the person's not vote, then cannot see result!

@omgtofubebe
Good. Now you answered my question.
Except that why should the person who had created the poll... let a certain person not vote? That isn't fair.

Oh, and people shouldn't make the polls.(Well.. only if its necessary, I guess its fine) The answer should be a yes for support, no for no support. A simple 2 answer question.

@determination

no, I meant if someone not vote the poll yet, they cannot see the result. It is fair. Because you have to give your opinion out to know the results.

The creator of the polls can decide whether it is a 2 answers, or 3 answers

@omgtofubebe
How is there 3 answers?
An extra "I'm not sure" option?

That was what I said... in the previous posts?

@determination

The creator of the poll will decide how many votes

Polls can be also asked:

Rate the egg:
5
4
3
2
1

Or:
Which creature do you like best?

A
B
C
D
E
F

@omgtofubebe
Ah... But then it would be completely different scales with different polls, correct?

How... many votes? Could you please explain that again?

@determination

Do you play polls on other websites?

When someone post the poll, they have the option to put the number of choices, and the number of votes each user can vote, and the expiry date. Before the user votes, they can never know the results. After they vote, they can see. Each user can be only given a chance to vote. No second time.

As a person who has seen and answered polls on several different forums, I don't believe issue of people being bribed to picking a certain answer or picking it because it is popular will be much of a problem.

Votes in polls can be anonymous, but the voter may decide to post their opinion.

If this idea is implemented, I believe the owner of the thread could be able to choose how many options there are and what they are as well if it is multiple choice. Here's an example of a poll I made on another website:
http://i45.tinypic.com/2v0ocxi.png

Some examples of possible polls could range from "Do you like anime?" to "What's your favorite ice-cream flavor?" to "Which dogs out of these are your favorites?" to "Which drawing do you like best?"

In many websites, the results of the poll are not revealed to the user until they vote. In the example above, I had voted on the poll, choosing the option "Anime." Thus, it shows the results.

But, as I have already stated, I don't believe it will be much of a problem. :]
