...Here comes a new love for jellyfish! No, nothing could ever make me stop loving birds, but...jellyfish are pretty freaking amazing. I went to the new aquarium in my town yesterday with my cousin and my friend, and while the jellyfish exhibit was nothing like the one at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago...I still think they're really cool. đ They had their life cycles all mapped out and whatnot. They just seem so surreal, and for such a simple organism...they just seem so intricate. So I guess I have grown quite partial to the cnidarians. xDAny weird/beautiful/fascinating creatures you like?
lynncrow • 6 August 2012 at 12:02 AM

metaphor • 6 August 2012 at 12:05 AM

mastergemma • 6 August 2012 at 12:18 AM

lynncrow • 6 August 2012 at 12:21 AM
@mastergemma XD that would hurt XD ....after the thorny devil moved out of my rose garden a bearded dragon moved in XD...we named him Lenny the lizard XD
mastergemma • 6 August 2012 at 12:25 AM
@lynncrowI also remember nearly squashing a blue tongue lizard because I was on my bike, on a bend and it was on a patch of sunlight.I nearly fell off because it startled me so much!

@metaphor ..........or NOT CEPHALOPODS, i should really do my research.i have an insane love for lots of weird and non-weird creatures. crows, octopi and cuttlefish (which was why i immediately went CEPH), ball pythons, peacocks, nightingales, cheetahs, pandas, sloths, betta fish...I love bizarrely intelligent animals (crows, octopi, etc) and ones with freaky superpowers (cuttlefish, bears of any kind) and ones that have evolved in strange ways (cheetahs, pandas, sloths). bettas are just pretty. and i'm partial to constrictor snakes for no reason at all, just because........ snakes.crows, octopi, and peacocks are my favorites right now though.

@metaphorI have not seen that one yet or have gone to the Aquarium. Looking at it the other day. Did not know there was one up that way by you. No one seemed very excited âšī¸ We did see them before at the Zoo. Have a pic of my kids in front of a large tank with very large jelly fish. I remember being younger going to the Gulf of Texas and we always had to worry about them and they would close the beaches when there was too many.Octopus, I find very interesting.
vampire666 • 6 August 2012 at 1:43 AM
@metaphor - This might come as a shocker, but I love vampire bats. đ Seriously, when they hop around, it is too cute. I also think the cuttlefish is amazing, communicating to each other with their own sign language. đ

@luvmykids244@riffraffie@metaphormy older sisters when they were younger went to a beach and had a jelly fight, still have the picture that they tookI find it amazing how octopi can get into the smallest holes, have you ever seen on try to get into a bottle, search it up O.o
metaphor • 6 August 2012 at 6:30 AM
@luvmykids244Yup, it just opened downtown. It's not very big, admission was pretty expensive, and I honestly do prefer our zoo...especially since we're members and all. They don't have jellyfish at our zoo, though. They do in the other zoos in the state I think, but we still haven't made it to them. But it was so much fun going with my cousin and my friend, they're funny, especially when we were walking back to the aquarium from a restaurant. xDThey are very pretty, although I've heard of the horrors of being stung by one, so I don't think I'd get too close, haha.@vampire666My mom looooooves bats. It's kind of weird because I never thought it'd be an animal she'd like.@riffraffiePeacocks for the win!@mastergemmaSounds fascinating. I shall.
sprite • 6 August 2012 at 12:59 PM
@metaphorYeah I saw the admission price and just thought I rather go to Amusement or Water Park. Glad you thought it was a bit steep too. Did they have a walk through part of the Aquarium where it's all around you? I think the Jelly Fish was at Akron? Have you been to the Wildlife park? Haven't been and no one else I know has been either.I see now after looking at the site they have a SeaTube đ@mastergemmaYep seen that years ago đ

seaangel • 6 August 2012 at 2:27 PM
@lynncrowI abousultly love the Okapi. If you don't know what it is look it up. It kind of looks like a horse, giraffe, zebra hybrid. They think it might be related to the giraffe, mainly because it's tongue is so long that it can clean it's ears out with it. In fact, it does!!
lynncrow • 6 August 2012 at 2:29 PM
@seaangeli know what they are ^^ they are so cool looking XP they must like how thier ears taste XD
seaangel • 6 August 2012 at 2:31 PM
@lynncrowI've never seen one in real life, but got really interested in them when my little sister's friend came in with a stuff animal okapi. I didn't think it was real, until they should me pictures, and I don't really think anyone in my church can photo shop a picture. XD
lynncrow • 6 August 2012 at 2:32 PM
@seaangelXD they do looked photoshoped XD ...that just makes it cooler XD
midnightw182 • 6 August 2012 at 2:33 PM

seaangel • 6 August 2012 at 2:33 PM
@lynncrowYes, I'm so very tempted to do a just for fun report on them. THEY ARE JUST SO FRIGGIN' AWESOME!!

metaphor • 6 August 2012 at 7:13 PM
@luvmykids244Yeah, it definitely wasn't cheap. They did have a tunnel where you could watch the sharks and such swim over and around you. That was pretty cool. They even had a touch exhibit. The sting rays were so affectionate and my cousin was jumping up and down in glee because she got to touch a shark several times, haha.I've been to Wildlife Park many times when I was younger, but haven't been in a long time. My dad used to like to drive through there when he had his motor home. It was a lot of fun. I'd love to go to Akron zoo, the Columbus zoo even, but my dad never wants to go. So far the only zoos I've been to other than my own are the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and the Pittsburgh Zoo. And biased as I may be, I still like ours best. It's just such a nice place to walk around.
sprite • 6 August 2012 at 8:25 PM
@metaphorOh the touch part would be nice. We might go sometime during the Winter. The Wildlife Park is a bit of a drive for us. Really want to go to it. They have a nice special price of admission for car load. Where we saw the Jellies was at Akron. The picture I took was of them in front of a large poster there for the exhibit. Cleveland is wonderful. Would love to visit the one in my home town of Fort Worth.
