egg stealing glitch

I have an Asus tablet and when I name an egg like let's say dawn and its already taken I type in a different name but it won't let me submit it!

I've had a lot of trouble with this and I wasn't able to get a bunch of eggs ☹️

Eggs have to have original names, meaning that if there is another egg with the same name, you can't give your egg that name. For example, there can only be one egg named "Dawn" throughout Egg Cave. It's not a glitch, but rather part of how Egg Cave works. Even if the name is already taken, you can still give it another name, but if you wait too long to name your egg it may disappear. If you encounter this problem, just enter in a new name, one that is unlikely to be taken. You can always rename them later if you'd like. Or, you can search up the name in advance to see whether another egg already has the name. :] If you are entering names that you have searched up and know aren't taken, then this may be a bug - if that's the case, hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

That's not a glitch. ^ _ ^

If a creature already has the name "Dawn" then there can be no other creature with the same name. You have to make something up to make it original like "-_-Dawn-_-" to where no one has it.

Really, you need to think of creative ways to have a common name, or think of a name that no one else has.

I was using dawn as an example and the glitch is that when I try to enter the name the little keyboard just thinks I'm still trying to type in the name.☹️

@annaomg123 Can you explain in detail? "when I try to enter the name the little keyboard just thinks I'm still trying to type in the name" doesn't really make grammatical sense. What do you mean by the little keyboard? If it's the keyboard on your tablet it may be a problem on your end.

When you type in the name and it's already taken, if you type in a DIFFERENT name (that isn't taken) and steal the creature it will work. (The message that shows "the creature name is taken" doesn't go away.)

Well you know like iPod touches have that installed keyboard? Let's say I type in a name and it's taken so I type in a new name that I think no one else used but when I actually push submit the keyboard thinks I'm still typing so I basically cant get that egg. And this happens on my asus tab. I'm going to see if my iPod does the same thing.

Erm... Don't play on the tablet? I don't know how to fix it... sorry. Does your iPod do the same thing?

@annaomg123 Then it's a problem with your Asus tablet, not a problem with Egg Cave.

Try taking your tablet to a computer store to see if you can get it fixed. It seems like the problem is to do with your tablet's keyboard.

Yeah, this is why i dont play on my ipod touch. Its not the website 😊. Most portable devices have internet, but i dont think they are meant for games like this. I suggest using a computer or laptop😊

@annaomg123 I'm a HUGE iPod user, and I know your pain. What I do is just to make sure I don't lose the egg, I type in gibberish and change the eggs name later 😊 really, EggCave is a good site compatible with mobiles and if it wasn't for that I probably wouldnt even be on EC. Sure this way you can only change 10 egg's names a month, but it's better than risking losing the egg, right? 😃
